[He's already gone over the issue of Starscream with Megatron and as he's not particularly interested in doing it again, he lets it go. He is keeping an eye on Skyfire's transmissions, though.]

Pretty brazen of you to just come out over the network like that. Guess I shouldn't be surprised, though.

[He laughs.]

Perhaps someone should put a tracer in me beforehand, hmm? That will make me easier to find than you were.

Tell me, do you know what was even done to you, yet?

[Right, because if Magnum vanishes, Ratchet is just going to be climbing the walls with worry. He gives his best approximation of rolling his optics dismissively.]

I know very well what was done to me. I assume Soundwave filled you in.

[Ratchet graciously continues to bite down on the irritated sarcasm that's just begging to get spit out.]

It echoes a little, but the sensory feedback isn't as bad. How'd you get proof we were missing?

[Because that's what he REALLY wants to know. The information would be invaluable combined with everything else and obviously Magnum knows it too. It was just a matter of who was going to let the other have the ball in their court, so to speak.]

Obviously we should arrange a sleepover.

[Oh, the grin is positively feral.] You could give Starscream a makeover. We could watch old vids. It is only too bad that Optimus Prime destroyed the footage from the Tyran cluster...because that was fascinating to see. I particularly liked the part where Ironhide threatened to shoot an innocent canine.

[Granted, it had looked like an over-sized rodent, he couldn't blame the mech entirely.]

Did Wheeljack not tell you? He was incredibly forthcoming with information related to your disappearance. It seemed he was rather attached, if I might be so bold.

[He just stares hard at Magnum through all of that ridiculousness. He knows it's meant to get a rise out of him... and unfortunately he can't deny that it really does make him feel like punching the comm screen just to see it crack. It's the sort of overly destructive urge he's been getting used to having these days.]

[The rest of it, though-- oh, that can't go without comment.]

He's an Autobot and a friend. Of course he's attached. Mentioning it must have slipped his mind around all the other slag happening.

[Everyone had been freaking out for a while there and he trusted Wheeljack. He refused to let Magnum think he could get him to doubt that.]

[His voice drops, softer. Serious, and he vents a sigh.]

But. 'Friends' are what is needed, right now. We are not accomplishing anything on our own. It took an alliance in order to get even this much information.

If we're to take preventative measures, it is going to take more.

[The shift is jarring, but under the locked feed, Ratchet recognizes the tone in Magnum's voice now. It's not enough to make him any less defensive, but he does allow himself to relax by a small degree.]

Are you really going to talk to me about friendship and alliances while you're busy extorting Skyfire for the same things?

Extorting Skyfire? No.

My intention was to extort Starscream. I'd not actually expected anyone to jump to his rescue...consider it a point I'd been wanting to prove that went awry.

Skyfire happened to offer me something I couldn't refuse. I will take him up on it...

[Might be a good thing they're not in the same room right now - Wheeljack's at work over at Cy-Tech at the moment - or he could probably expect a wrench to the back of the helm. Not that maybe he wouldn't deserve it too.]
