Welcome back, sir.

Construction of the portal is complete. The hardware has been tested, as far as it can be, and seems to be working to spec. [At the very least, nothing was blowing out or catching on fire anymore when he powered it up...]

As for the software, it's... [Hm, how to put this diplomatically?]

We're having trouble with the targeting software. Transwarp coordinates of this nature are not simple to determine, and without a set of verified coordinates to use as a model, it's difficult to be certain precisely how to program the system to accept them.

That's...a real problem.

It...was sort of similar to locating hollow mine seams, though, if he thought about it in another way. They had a piece of equipment which moved along, tapping each square foot and analyzing the vibrations before moving onward, stopping finally when it registered thuds that were dull.]

...would it be possible for you to run a count-up algorithm, and build a machine to test portal entry for each iteration?

Skywarp's working on that now, sir. He's revamping all the programming I'd initially written to operate the thing. Once he's got that online, I'll see what we can come up with to start testing coordinates.
