[Resolutely ignoring things he never really needed nor wanted to know about what the robots around here can do. Yup.]Kang, where did you get that venison, if you don't mind my asking? Or anyone else who knows where I can lay my hands on a great deal of meat and a good 'teach yourself to cook' book or vid-course. I had an idea ( Read more... )

I'm not interested in the venison per se, but anywhere that sells venison probably sells duck, too. I'm planning on appealing to the part of Verity that the brainwashing virus hasn't gotten to yet.

You should've seen how she reacted to the description of a California danger dog the first time I spoke to her after she hit the Nexus. I'm pretty sure that's one of those primal drives that's not going to stay buried long. And you can't beat turducken when it comes to meat deployment.

Start with a hot dog- regular is fine, foot-long is better- and then wrap it in bacon. Make sure you tack the bacon on with toothpicks, because the next step is to deep-fry it in peanut oil. Then it gets topped with chili and grilled onions. From what I understand they got their name from the vendors who sold them not exactly being the best-regulated bunch in the business.

So you can see why I'm setting the bar high, if that's the kind of thing that caught her interest.

It still can't beat the turducken, though. Gut and bone the turkey, lay it out flat, layer in stuffing, add in the gutted and boned duck, next layer of stuffing, add the chicken, one more layer of stuffing, then close it all up and sew up the turkey before roasting. Any meatier than that and you'd be reading out of an ancient Roman playbook.

[Terrifying food can make a man completely miss an accidental innuendo. Crazy, but true.]

I doubt I'll get more than one chance to break through this kind of brainwashing. Might as well break out the big guns.

By all means, go right ahead. You've always had excellent taste anyway.
