II. [Voice/Video] Contemplation

Aug 05, 2010 08:20

[the voice doesn't start immediately. for a few seconds, there's the sound of systems cycling, vents intaking. then, finally, the voice of Nemesis Prime...in a thoughtful tone.]

I spoke with a mech who had been here for fifty Vorns.

He said he hadn't been to the upper levels for forty.

Not for lack of wanting, but...

[There's a long pause, and Barricade's tone is serious when he finally says something.]

If they do know... I very much doubt that they care. We're... hrng. Inferiors encroaching on their space, regardless of the fact that we didn't intend to.

[JUST AS PLANNED]

Cybertronian is Cybertronian. All castes and clans and builds aside. One would think that for all of their 'advancement', the Transtechs would recognize this.

It is a pity we are lumped in with the truly wretched.

[Hey, he's a thinky mech. Even if he's the sort to tell others to get jobs if they need money.]

Heh. I think you give them too much credit. T'them, we're all just lowtechs. Closest to equality we get, I suppose.

[He snorts quietly.] Not much t'be done for that. We all have means to better our lot here. Including them.

I simply held higher expectations. And as I have been told, one must either 'change' or stop complaining.

[there's a smile audible in his voice. dark smile.]

That's the problem with expectations, I find.

[That tone makes him wary.]

So I'd noticed. Don't think I've heard Magnum so displeased before.

I thought he called himself Megatron.

Oh, that would just make it complicated. Some of us already have masters by that designation, and clarifying can get to be so annoying. It's like talking about Starscreams.

That must be a further blow for his ego. It seems so fragile.

I couldn't speak to his ego, really, but he doesn't strike me as the fragile sort in any capacity.

Something in him is broken. He lashes out unthinkingly - I am truly regretting Sentinel's presence, now. He was a waste, and as so wasted my planet and its mechs.

If he wasn't already dead I would kill him myself for this affront.

What's to say things wouldn't have turned out the same if it had been someone else in power?

With the nature of this place? You might have the chance anyway.

That depends on the someone else. Sentinel was weak, and let Cybertron deliberate under him. If a Prime is strong, then Cybertron is the stronger for it.

Simply sayin' that sometimes, things're meant to turn out certain ways, perhaps.

Though I can safely say that I never knew Cybertron was so tied to Primes.

The more...religious would claim a link to Prima and Primus, if you put stock in such old stories.

All I can say for certain is that there is an indisputable connection. At least, from whence I come.

Old stories sometimes have an amount of truth to them.

Mm. It's not so where I'm from. Otherwise Cybertron would've died a long time ago.
