First, you should all read (or at least skim) this
HERE because i will be speaking about it briefly.
To sum it up, Americans (and some British, though i would assume thats a fairly small number) companies are screwing Australians. Why? How? Simple.
Because they can.
How? By making us pay more. Not electronics - games mostly - are quite a bit more

I was shopping yesterday and i swung past the game store to look at some games.
Xbox 360 games are all $100-$110 each, new. PC games rank in about $98-$100 each. When the 380 game out here is was almost $700, the Nintendo Wii is still $400. I just can't afford to pay a HUNDRED dollars for a game that will last me maybe 10 hours, 15 at most. Thats around ten dollars an hour to play something like Mass Effect. Its ridiculous.
I always thought it was because they had to ship games here, and they had to store them, and so on. But the more i look and the more i research (many games are printed here anyway) and now with the digital thing, its simply 'they're not american, we can charge what we like' and they do.
I'd prefer to NOT have to 'find' games other ways, but i can't afford to spend $100 on games, this is why my American friends don't understand when i say 'i can't afford to buy -Super New Game-', most of them are used to paying like, $50-$60 a game. I know someone that was complaining the other day that he would "Never pay more than fifty bucks for a game" I had to resist the urge to kill him.

This is why i usually try and buy online in the states and have people mail it to me, that way they have no idea what country i'm from and i get around their obvious hatred for my awesome country.
