Life...in the last few months

Yes...the last few months...what has been happening in the life of Aximili?

I went on a road trip with my mom, yay!  We just stayed in Washington state this time, instead of traveling around the U.S. and Canada.  We went down to see Mt. Rainier and Mt. St. Helens, and then went over to Walla Walla to visit my aunt and uncle, who were staying there for a while, on an RV expedition.  We came back up by way of Yakima and Sunnyside, where my mom was born.  It was a lot of fun.  We took Luther, my lab/retriever with us, and he had a great time as well.  I'd never been to the mountains before, so it was wonderful to see them.  It was sobering, however, to see the devastation caused by the eruption of St. Helens; but, at the same time, good to see some of the land and vegetation growing back.

I went to Nicaragua and Honduras with my dad for a week.  We were there with some others for a vision trip with Agros (see my previous entry if you'd like to know what Agros is).  What an experience!  We visited many of the villages in progress, and also met a community of people ready and waiting to become a village.  We met most of the Agros staff from both countries as well.  The people are so generous, welcoming, and kind.  Almost all of the villages had prepared a meal for us during our visits.  It was endearing to meet and spend time with all of the people, young and old.  I even had the pleasure of riding a horse belonging to one of the families.  I made good friends with a girl my age, and we were like sisters by the end of the visit.  It was wonderful to be down there.

I am in the process of applying to Pratt Fine Arts Center, for Winter quarter, to take some classes in metallurgy.  I'm very much looking forward to that!

I've found and connected with some old friends, who I went to elementary school with, back in the day.  I moved, a long time ago, and lost contact with all of my friends...we were too young to keep in contact anyway.  But, I have missed them and thought about them ever since, and yay!  I've found a couple of them.  It's really exciting...I never thought I'd talk to them again.

My brother Joseph, who lives in New York, is now engaged!  ^___^

I have just gotten a holiday job at Macy's, in Downtown Seattle, and will be starting there tomorrow (well, today, I suppose, considering the time).  Hopefully, it will end up being more than just a holiday job; it's great to have a job, but it would be awesome if I could stay on after the holidays and have a more long-term job.  But in the meantime, yay!  I have a job!  ^_____^

That's about it for now!  Hope everyone is doing well, and that you are all having a wonderful November so far.
