Why can't a weekend just be relaxing?

I got four days off of work. Normally, this would be a great thing, and I would be all for it. But each day came with both good and bad, which has left me blah and frustrated.

Thursday was actually the best day. We made a bit too much food, but it was all good. People came over, we talked, not too bad. Then the kids wanted to play Mario Party on the Wii. Not a big deal (although they have a Wii and play it constantly at home, I don't see why they couldn't bother doing something different here, but whatever.)

My step nephew managed to smack his head into a couple of wooden shelves we use for holding statuettes and stuff. He's lucky nothing fell over on him, we have some heavy stuff on those. And yes, there was someone in there, who was, I guess, technically watching them. I have no idea what he was doing, since I walked in the room and watched them jump onto our couch arm, and then one of them shoved the other off, which is how he fell. I didn't have time to react, but with the noise they were making, I wouldn't be surprised if they had been doing it for a while. Which makes me wonder just how much he was paying attention to the kids. Not my place to judge, though.

Friday, Zolae was really blah in the morning. Really really blah again. I can't blame him, I was feeling blah as well. I finally manage to cheer him up, we play games a bit and take a nap (we haven't been getting much sleep lately). Not more than 2-3 hours later, we get a call. It's his brother, saying his sister wants the extra lumpia she made back, and to bring over the kids christmas presents early. Oh, and could we have the lumpia by 7 PM? (He mentioned he thought she was joking about that part, but either that day or the next, didn't matter...)

Mark and I both thought it was a bad idea to bring the christmas presents over early, and since it was already 5:30, we had to hussle to get there on time. We get there, and when we knock on the door and go in, they started LAUGHING at us. They said "We were joking, didn't you know?!"

NO. NO WE DID NOT. Why the hell would we have driven 2 hours do to this if we thought you were joking?!

I didn't say that, though. There wasn't really much point. And then they were surprised that we left so suddenly. Well, neither Zolae or I like to be laughed at like that, thank you very much. That pretty much ruined the rest of Friday.

Saturday and Today were pretty much just overall blah days. Stuff I'd rather not mention right now, because I don't want to have to get frustrated with it all over again.

Still, let's hope this week (and next weekend) go better.

frustration, family, blahness
