An update on the whole car accident insurance thing.
So on Monday I get a call from the adjuster, he has reviewed the appraisers numbers and had viewed Trader.ca and had come up with a figure to indemnify me for the loss of my vehicle. There are two vehicles on Trader.ca, suspiciously both vehicles are exactly 1,000.00 apart in asking price and exactly 22,000km from my insured vehicle. I should mention that up until Monday, there was only one vehicle listed...then suddenly poof! a 2nd vehicle of lesser value appears. Anyways, he offers me 7,500.00 less my thousand dollar deductible. I ask for some time to review the numbers and do my own research. He agrees.
I didn't bother doing anything, b/c in truth, I just wanted my rental a little longer so I could go out on Halloween! lol.
Anyways, Thurday I start number crunching...a 3rd vehicle appears on trader.ca, I decide to take an average of the $/km and then apply the number to my kms. I come to 8,300.00 including pst, less the thousand dollar deductible. The adjuster refuses, so I ask to speak to the supervisor...lol...he agrees to discuss it with his supervisor and comes back agreeing to settle for 8,100.00...So I accept...and he wanted to give me less...fucker!
