Today was bound to be a busy day where no work would be done. It had been planned on the first arrival to this house that there would be a "Steak NIght" as they have become known as here with quite a few people enjoying the Venissen that Finbarr shot in his homeland of Ireland (after being impressed I learnt that the deer that we would be eating (of the two he shot) only had three legs when he shot it so it didn't seem as amazing a kill). So this steak night was arranged for this sunday lunch and all was fine.
My parents recently went off to America for a holiday and have just come back. Now, I partly own a house on the Wirral that I will live in in 4th and 5th year but I wanted to take a look at it again to refresh my memory and to maybe see if it would be worth commuting to Liverpool from there next year. This was partly catalysed as the house were in this year is huge but it seems a bit soul-less and is quite expensive (plus people in it are quite messy and that's coming from me) so we at least want to move to a smaller, cheaper, more homely house. So I asked my parents when this could be done and it turns out that it had to be done on.... Sunday.
Sunday is here. We got up and ate (Asda sugar puffs that I swear taste better than the real thing!) and waited for my parents. While waiting for them I went to brush my teeth and found AMy coming out the bathroom and a very broken shower rail in the bath. It turns out that AMy had slipped in the shower and managed to fall out the bath and into the wall of the bathroom, pulling down the rail in the process in a spectacle that the mere thought of shall amuse me for years to come. As I told her, when things like that happen you have to laugh or cry and I know which I'd prefer to do. So, on the Wirral we looked at the house and it's great. It feels like a home and has so much space about it. I can really imagine living there which is good and I can't wait to be there but the commute to Liverpool every day would just be too awkward so we're staying in the city.
So we had a nice lunch out at an Ember Inn and I had some roast beef before we went to B&Q and back to the house to fix things before setting off back home. We got back in time for me to have a bit of venissen and for us to have pudding which was good. Wotoko.
My operation is on Thursday and I'm a lot more nervous approaching it this time than I was approaching it last time before it got cancelled. So everyone send good vibes my way on Thursday (that means you too Kev!) and touch wood everything will go okay... I can safely say that none of you shall be envying me.
