Back in Black

I've done some work tonight but the thing I really wanted to do isn't available yet (emailed the lecturer so hopefully will be tomorrow) so I thought I haven't updated in ages and really should, so here I am.

So, as you'll all know
shula_tiger and I went off lambing in the Easter holidays. Much fun was had once we woke up on the drive over (6:15 really is too early to get up in the holidays). Was hard work but at least we did earn some decent money for all our labours and we got to meet Ozzy. Ozzy was a lamb who couldn't walk when we found him in the orphan box; he'd just fall over or walk on his ankles. That day, we did some lamb physiotherapy and got him walking. After a couple more days he was runnign a bit, walking fine, responding to his name, calling to be fed and wagging his tail when you fussed or cuddled him... sadly, one of the night staff put him on an adoptor and he didn't know what to do so died:'( I really miss him and wish I could give him one last stroke, but I can't kid anyone, you all know one would never be enough...

All the poeple on the farm were great though and it re-energised me for the coming term and exams that I need to start revising for but can't really find the time since we're still doing lectures. We've been invited back next year and could earn more money so shall have to see how things go.

In the week we had off after we finished I managed to get Shula to go swimming which was fun. She wasn't bad (she made out she could hardly swim) and I enjoyed it a lot, it making me want to do it more often and get into diving again.

I think being at uni has made me more appreciative of my family, seeing that there are a lot worse ones out there and that perhaps I've taken them for granted as it were, thinking it the norm. Uni was good today though, had a couple of quite boring lectures but then a big gap where we just hung out in the common room when someone comes in and goes, "can I just get someone who isn't afraid of snakes to come help me?" Shula volunteered us both and off we went to meet Betty the Boa Constrictor! Welcome to the reptile room; a room we'd heard about but never found; and our job, to stop Betty escaping a small enclosure...

She actually didn't even try, being content with a box. It did give us chance later though to go see Monty the iguana and give him a tickle which he quite enjoyed before Tony (the guy who asked for volunteers) left us to guard Betty again. We were just talking about if Bobbie (the new faculty puppy) would like to meet Betty and who would come off worse when who should walk in but Bobbie herself:O followed promptly by Stanley and Lulu (Lulu almost introducing herself to the snake:P). What a nice surprise for them to drop by. After feeding the ill gheckos some crickits we got to have a hold of Betty before she was put away:(

I think
shula_tiger may have something else to post about today so I won't steal her thunder:P Hope you're all doing well out there!
