Lol, nothing much. Does it e-mail your friend's why you post a topic in your journal or something? I was just testing the strike out to see if I remembered how to do it and just cause it's fun. All of a sudden I get two new comments.

Nope. Unless they requested when you update your journal. But when most people check their f-list, sometimes it's right when you update it. XD; Make sense? I suck at explaining. -_-;

It sort of makes sense. So, people can almost subscribe to your journal? Is that it?

Basically, yes. They can get notifications if you upload a new userpic or update your journal.
