. . . because of a man named Prune. Well, let's call him Prune for convenience sake. He's our COO, and the CEO has transferred a lot of the decision-making for policies and hiring to him.
He started things off with a bang this fall, unleashing a bloodbath of firings.
Last week it was a reorganizing and consolidating of people's positions and powers - and to make sure that everyone affected toes the line, half the company will be shifting spaces so the supervisors can keep an eye on them.
Today they eliminated the inclement weather policy. Our policy had been that if the weather is too nasty for Call-A-Ride to run we will close a) because a number of our employees won't be able to get to work, since they take Call-A-Ride and b) many of our clients won't be able to get to us for the same reason.
Now it doesn't matter how shit the weather is or whether they plow your neighborhood or not. It could be a skating rink out there, but our asses had better be in the office unless we take a vacation day, or get written up for being absent without authorization.
This may be how it works at your job, but from my perspective THIS IS A CROCK OF SHIT. People are going to get hurt trying to get in when they should stay the hell off the roads. Hell, I've gotten hurt just trying to get to my car when things are particularly icy.
Our company has just jumped the shark, putting profits before people.
