While paroozing late night television on TV with a friend last night, I found out that Muhlenberg has its own television channel and shows are all done by student submission. It was amazing. Most of them were awful and had terrible production value: A cooking show starring a slightly inept "eyeball it" chef. A chop picture discussion on the changes between high school and being a freshman starring two freshmen. A 5 minute fashion tip show for decorating your dorm in a "classy" way. An odd showing of two people sharing a Valentine to sappy music and cheesy acting.
I was about to give up hope when another one aired and it blew my socks off. It was some ridiculous fantasy or a relationship formed just by one person glancing at strangers. It was actually pretty good and that's when it hit me: This would be like making videos at Camp.
I will be borrowing cameras from the school quite a bit, I think. I'm going to quickly edit a few odd sketches together and then send it to the MC channel people. I'm going to make an odd, but distinct mark on this campus during just my free time.
And hey, maybe people will think it's retarded. Maybe nobody will see it. Maybe they won't even use it. Whatever. I just want to make some odd little Indie movies in my spare time and put them on YouTube or something equally odd. It'd be a blast!
...Hey, everyone needs a hobby, right?
