spontaneity of youth
this pic on my fridge door always puts a grin on my face.
it's a gift from my civics class and in a couple of months they will all face their big exams.
it's strange how maternal i feel with each passing year, well not strange when i am getting older and the chasm gets wider haha
but i really hope they nail it coz i've watched them the past year trying to get over their setbacks of retaining, family issues, teen angst etc. while editing their testimonials the other day, i wondered what they're going to make of themselves.
god knows when i was their age i just wanted to get thru the horrid a levels and then do whatever i could but study. i actually thought of signing up for the air force coz i had perfect eye-sight then and i could reach the console in a cockpit! of course that didn't pan out and i've no regrets. coz everytime i revel at the pictures of past and present students, i feel this profound maternal warmth which can never be quantified materially.
