that best sums up 1/7 of the man-made wonders of the world that is angkor wat.
we thought it'd be another cliched visit but turns out this is one destination which is uniquely what you intrinsically make of it.
while we were awed by the sheer colossal glory of each temple, i appreciated it most by imagining what it was like staying there in its ancient era, what it must be like to walk through its opulent gardens and how long it took to carve every intricate detail. well that and the musty smell which pervaded the structures, it wasn't hard to conceive what went into producing such majestic architecture with the given technology of that period.
we snapped copious pictures (well she did, i mostly gaped and grunted through the obstacle course) and it's hard to choose which one ruled because every temple had something magical and epic. if walls could talk i can imagine the amazing yarns which would spring forth.
i call this one 'the hand of god' (or cloverfield monster if you prefer haha)
even riding on our tuk-tuk was like a magical journey through time
something i tried to coax into my luggage hehe
