you only kill the ones you love.

I think people who can't afford to keep a family shouldn't have one at all. What's the point of dragging them into your problems later? To think that man had a 2nd child years later after being ridden in debt is a sign of incorrigible folly, or bad birth-control.

Potential parents out there should take note. A country like ours provides little for the poor, even the baby bonus seems to cater to only those who are financially stable.

What bothers me most about this case is how his church could grant him $10k with no strings. That's not helping, that's just offering him an easy way out. And that only encouraged him to return to his old ways. What ever happened to teaching a man to fish than giving him one? What kind of message is the church sending out to potential gamblers out there? Furthermore, if the church gets audited, they cannot justify such write-offs as charity because the man wasn't a chairty case, he just had a foolish habit, and a lazy-ass way of trying to 'earn' money the fast & easy way. He was NO victim, he made his own choices.

And now there's news of another attempted family homi-suicide. sigh. Only this time they didn't succeed and the kids could end up brain-damaged from the drug overdose! I hope these parents get life imprisonment, since they can't handle their debts they can sponge free food and lodging off the state for the rest of their miserable lives.
