One thing about Sesame Street that's endeared since the 70s is how they include celebrities every once in awhile to drive home the importance of literacy, yes even Goo Goo Dolls has gotten into the act. This time they modified "Slide" with "Pride" which was just as catchy. (Ironic that the original is about a boy comforting his gf after an abortion and the kiddie version about taking pride in the things you do, like helping mom bake an apple pie wahahaha!)

My kids and I were thoroughly amused when we watched the clip on TV, well for them it was Elmo posing as a furry-faced rocker and for me, when Jill said, "I know mummy, you want to marry him!" (I'm assuming not Elmo) Actually I was only distracted by his Gibson acoustic. :p

Heh, if they only knew the druggy darkness which defines Rzeznik's visions.
