state of the yard

The neighbors are putting in a pool. It has been interesting to watch, but it has gotten pretty old. It turned out that they had to take out the short retaining wall between our yards in order to put in a french drain (and because it started collapsing into our yard during the initial digging). I guess that was Friday. Plants had to be moved, and it was just generally nerve-wracking. On the assurance from my neighbor that anything lost would be replaced, and due to the fact I was sick, I had the contractor guys move the plants. My poor babies. We'll see how it all turns out. So the six pallettes of stone that were the wall have been sitting in our yard since then. They were supposed to be gone yesterday, but nobody was here working on that for some reason. There is going to be some concentrated run-off into the back of our yard as a result of the whole project. This comes just after I began (with copious amounts of help from my family) planting the back of the back yard. It makes me a little nervous, but we have a ton of stones, and we've been talking about putting in a little pond/riverbed.

The noise and and my cold have kept me inside mostly recently. I really want to get out and work in the yard, but I really want my cold to go away more. The noisy part of the pool construction should be over in the next couple of days. Hopefully my cold will too.
