Chapter 16-Returning Home
“Mattie, watch.” Alfred said pointing to the shore. Matthew looked at the shore, and Alfred whistled. Faeries, thousands of them rose above the trees and flew towards them. Matthew gasped at all them. Even Arthur helped. The Faeries used their faerie dust to lift the ship and carry it part of the way out of the water. The Faeries followed alongside the ship.
Matthew watched the sky they were flying on, and watched the ground below turn into city lights and busy streets. Peter and Jack stood next to Matthew.
“Will they remember us, like you say they will Moth-I mean Mattie?”
“Of course, Peter.” He said lifting Peter up to hold him. Matthew was glad to have gotten rid of the name, ‘Mother’. When they arrived close enough to the house, Arthur gave the three boys a bit of faerie dust to get from the ship to their window. They entered the room and looked around.
“Mom.” Matthew whispered looking at Katyusha. He felt odd calling her that, since he never had before, “Let’s break it to her, carefully.” Matthew said walking towards his bed and getting in. Not bothering with taking off some of the things he was wearing, and not bothering to change his clothes. Jack and Peter followed and went to their beds. They all laid down and pretended to be asleep.
Katyusha opened her eyes the moment the boys pretended to be asleep. She glanced at the bodies laying asleep in the beds.
“I dreamt that my boys came back. And that they were asleep, in their beds.” She frowned, “But they will never return.” She left the room, leaving the door open. The brothers sat up in their beds and looked at each other. They didn’t understand how she couldn’t see them. But, she had seen them so often in her dreams, that she thought that this was a dream, hanging around her still.
Katyusha was at the top of stairs, and watched as Ivan came into the house, and Natalia was doing more reading on the couch. Katyusha gasped and ran back towards the nursery. And there standing in the middle of the room, was Matthew, Jack and Peter.
“Hello, Mom! It really is us!” Jack said.
“Matthew, Jack and Peter!” Peter said their names as if Katyusha had no idea who they were.
“We’re back!” Matthew spoke. Katyusha ran to the boys and the boys ran into her arms.
“Ivan! Ivan come quickly!!” Katyusha called out.
“What is it? I’m coming! What-!” Ivan ran past the four people in the middle of the room and ran towards the window. The window was open. Ivan turned slowly to see Katyusha on her knees at the boy’s level.
“We’re back, Daddy. Did you miss us?” Peter asked.
“Yo-You’re back.”Ivan mumbled, “That’s great.” Ivan continued to ramble things in a monotone voice and he slowly walked toward the group. Once he had made it all the way there, he fell to his knees and took Jack in his arms and hugged him. “Of course I missed you!”
Matthew felt good to be home with his family. They could hear Natalia yelling and commanding people up the stairs.
“These boys say the craziest of things-!” She stopped midsentence and looked at the family in front of her, “You’re back.” Natalia placed her hand over her mouth, trying to cover up her smile. She walked briskly over to the group and hugged her nephews. Matthew broke away from the group and walked over to the Lost Boys.
“Mom, Dad! I’d like to introduce the Lost Boys! Can they stay with us?” Katyusha and Ivan looked at each other, then at the six boys.
“The cost to have them.” Ivan whispered, the boys pouted.
“Think of the neighborhood.” Natalia warned. Katyusha looked at Ivan, her eyes pleading to keep the boys.
“Fine, we can keep them.” Ivan said with a small smile. The boys cheered.
“Here I’ll introduce them!” Matt said happily, “We have Gilbert, Francis, Feliks, Kiku, and I think its time the Twins get their own name.”
“Oh we have our own names, we just never used them. Alfred never let us.” The twins answered in unison.
“He’s Lovino, and” The lighter haired twin replied.
“He’s Feliciano.” The darker haired twin replied.
“You’ve kept that a secret the whole time.”
“Yes. Alfred could never tell us apart, so he told us to do everything together, and never use our names.” They replied in unison again, “If we had waited any longer, I’m sure we would of forgotten our names.”
“Daddy! Would this help with the cost?” Peter said grabbing his bag and dumping jewels and gold all over the floor.
“Yes!” Ivan replied hugging Peter.
There had never been a happier sight, but nobody was there to witness it, except a strange boy watching from the window. Alfred had many adventures and joys that other children could never know of, but he was looking at the one joy he was forever barred from. Arthur saw that Alfred was getting upset and tugged on his hair, and teased him.
“Let’s go home, Artie.” He whispered turning away from the window.
Matthew noticed a shadow moving on the floor, he got up and ran to the open window.
“Alfred!” Alfred turned around and saw Matthew, “Y-you won’t forget me will you?”
“Me? Forget? Never.” Alfred crossed his arms, his smile began to fade. He raised his arm to say good bye.
“Will you come back?”
“To hear stories.” Matthew laughed, “About me!” Alfred smiled once again. Arthur led the way with Alfred following behind.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
“But Matthew never saw Alfred again.” Matthew told his story to the young boy laying in his old bed.
“Did you mind much?” The boy asked, his curious eyes looking up at his father.
“No.” Matthew smiled, “I knew he would forget. He has so many adventures.” The boy picked up the acorn button and eyed it one last time before handing it back to Matthew.
“Good night, Papa.” The boy yawned.
“Good night, sweetheart.” He replied kissing the boys forehead. Matthew turned off the lights and walked over to a chair to read a book, while waiting for his son to fall asleep. He felt a sudden breeze in the room, Matthew looked up towards the window, the window was open, when it should have been shut. Matthew saw the pair of small legs covered in vines and leaves land in the room. They began to walk towards Matt’s old bed.
“Matthew? Mattie I have come back for you.” Alfred’s child voice called out.
“Hey there, Alfred.” Matthew called from where he sat.
“There you are! Is that Jack in the bed?” Alfred asked.
“No, Jack is no longer here.”
“Then its Peter.”
“Peter isn’t here anymore either.” Alfred looked at the bed then back at Matthew and smiled.
“Is it...a new one?”
“Yes.” Alfred’s eyes widened with joy, “I can’t come with you Alfred. I don’t remember how to fly.” Alfred laughed a bit.
“That’s easy, I can teach you again.”
“It’s more than just that, Alfred.” Matthew began to stand up. Alfred took steps back. Matthew walked over to the lights and went to turn them on.
“No! Don’t turn up the lights!” Alfred called out quietly. Matthew turned them on anyways and slowly turned around to face Alfred, “No…Mattie, you shouldn’t have.”
“I couldn’t help it Alfred. I’m married now.”
“No...you’re not.” Alfred said, trying to fight the sadness in his voice.
“That boy there in my old bed, is my son.”
“No he is not!” Alfred said angrily. He walked over to the bed and looked at the boy sleeping. He really didn’t look much like Matthew to him. But, he couldn’t help but stare at the child sleeping in Matthew’s old bed. His anger left him, and he looked at Matthew, who looked away. Alfred crawled to the ground and began sobbing.
The boy sleeping in the bed slowly sat up and rubbed the sleep out of his tired eyes. He noticed Alfred on the ground crying.
“Boy...Why are you crying?” He asked curiously. Alfred stood up and wiped his tears away.
“I am Alfred Jones.”
“I know.” The child smiled, “I’ve been, wanting to meet you.” Alfred looked at Matthew, Matthew smiled to him.
“I’m Alexander.” Alfred smiled and bowed. Alex mimicked Alfred and bowed. Alfred looked towards the window then back at Alex. Alex’s eyes widened, before crawling to the end of the bed and looked at Matthew, “Can I go? Please Papa?” Matthew took a few steps forward, worried, “I want to go on my own adventure!” Matthew nodded.
“I know you do.” Alfred motioned for Arthur to come in from the window. Alex looked up at Arthur who smiled and dusted him.
“Look Papa, look! I’m flying!” Matthew laughed. Alfred reached out his hand for Alex’s, “I’ll be back soon, Papa.”
“With stories!” Alfred said excitedly. Arthur flew over to Matt, Matthew smiled at the faerie. Arthur bowed, and Matthew bowed back. Then Arthur stuck out his tongue. Matthew laughed, Arthur never changes. Arthur flew back towards Alfred and Alex. Alfred led Alex by the hand out the window with Arthur following close behind. Matthew followed them to the window and watched them take off into the night sky.
This would happen again and again, for all children grow up, except one.
The End.

And I'm done! *falls over* so here's my notes for this chapter
One, I decided to us the book ending of Peter inviting Jane to Neverland. Here's the thing...I ust couldn't bring myself to kill off Arthur... in the book it says that Faeries only live for about two weeks or so. so Tink died before Peter even came back for Wendy the second time, and when she asked about Tink, Peter Replied with a "who?" response.
Two, The child, Alex, basically I took sort of the idea from Hook [which I can't stand that movie at all, so I don't remember it too well] in the movie Tootles lives with Wendy, whether they get married is beyond me, So I made it where oneof the lost boys marry Matt. Which one? Prussia mainly because I'm a PruCan [that sound slike a type of nut.../random]plus that whole New Prussia in Canada o 3o; I'm not a fan of MPreg though, so the deal is Prussia and Canada found a woman they trusted to basically bear their child forthem. Which is why Alfred noticed that the boy doesn't look like Matt.
Three, The Twins not having names, its said in the book thta Peter couldnt tell the twins apart, and thus had no names. o 3o
Alright I'm done, I gotta go pack to go home tomorrow, and I'll be without internet for a week which is why I updated twice today ;D Anyways Everyone have a Merry Christmas for those who celebrate it. and For those of you who are currently[?] Celebrating it I hope you have/had a Happy Chanukkah. :3 I'll see you all later with a new fic. ;D
