Books - November 2013

Oops, forgot November!  Here we go...

1. The Making of the Wizard of Oz by Aljean Harmetz
It was ok.  I didn't really learn anything new.  The pictures were good and some of the behind-the-scenes stories, but overall, not worth the read.

2. Criss Cross by Lynne Rae Perkins
Newbery winner that I was less-than-impressed with.  I don't think much happened, which is probably why I can't remember anything about it.

3. Coldest Girl in Coldtown by Holly Black
Pretty good vampire story.  I'm assuming it will be a series.  Vamps, & those potentially infected, live in America in what are called "Coldtowns".  Not really anything new in terms of vampire lore, but overall good story.

4. Flowers in the Attic by V.C. Andrews
My favorite VC Andrews book.  So disturbing, yet so campy & good.  I re-read this because I heard a TV movie was being made.  Hope it sticks to the book more than the original movie did.

5. The Fall of Five by Pittacus Lore
I have enjoyed all the books in the Lorien Legacies series.  This was no different.  The title is a little tricky, but the story was a fun, easy read.

6. A Clash of Kings by George R.R. Martin
I really didn't think I'd like this series, but once I got into it, I got into it.  It's long and detailed and wordy, but enjoyable.  The second season of Game of Thrones goes along with this book pretty well.
