September 19th 2011: Raven to Minerva

Sep 19, 2011 17:41

Dear Minerva

I tried to get you on the Floo this afternoon, but you were off being Busy and Important round the school somewhere.

Oh, sorry. I'm just irritable.

Must be the change of the season or something, but I feel all jumpy and tired of being at home. Book tours and knitting demonstrations seem to have spoilt me rather. And when Arthur's not at home (he's away for work again), I just sit here twiddling my thumbs. The ravens are nice enough, but they're not such company as my dearest friend provides.

*sigh*

There's nothing much to report. Book sales have levelled out, the children are all fine, house and garden spick and span. oh - yes! We have a new car, and Arthur's so delighted with it! But apart from that there's nothing extraordinary.

One curious thing, though. The ghoul has moved out! I went to fetch him from the attic for his annual hose-down, and he wasn't there! I thought for sure he's be with the family forever, seeing as we've had him so long, but perhaps he's a bit fed up with all the peace and quiet too. The funny thing is, he's left his collection of bits and bobs (you know, all those broken little objects ghouls love playing with) behind. I never thought he'd do that.

Molly

P.S. Could you give Nivider (that's the raven) something to eat, please? He and Zhamayplu have just had another hatching and he's worn to the feather feeding the chicks. Shouldn't have asked him to do the delivery, really, but he insisted. Silly bird.
