FISHIES UPDATE!
LOL!! OK...so I got my damsels a week ago today. They were fine for like 2 days, and then Thursday I noticed that they didn't eat their breakfast. Thursday day my sister came over all day and said they were sorta sitting on the bottom. Then that night, one of the striped ones was like LAYING on the bottom of the tank. I got worried when all of them started laying down and figured they'd be floating by morning. HA! So anyway, I talked to Julie Fri morning and she's like, "umm, Amy, salt-water fish don't float when they're dead...they're more dense" so I started laughing hysterically because I had really already written them off, and Julie said that I'd have to fish them off the bottom. EWW!! I laughed all afternoon. So I drove straight to the shop and told Tom and Vicky that they were laying on the bottom. To make a long story short, we finally figured out that I had the water level too high in the wet/dry filter, so therefore the fish weren't getting enough oxygen!! When the water falls through the balls, it oxygenates the water, and the water in the tank was not oxygenized enough. So anyway, I fixed it and by Saturday night and Sunday morning I had swimming fish!! I can't believe I saved them...but I totally brain damaged them I'm sure. One of them (I'm pretty sure it's Dopey) is swimming around in circles all over (it looks like a dog chasing it's tail), and Happy just LOVES to swim up into the current of the water return and just swim into it and then start over again. It's SO amusing to watch...the two blue damsels are like being SO mean to each other -- Grumpy is just chasing Pissy around SO much that they're breaking the surface of the water and everything. I think Pissy will end up committing suicide by jumping out of the tank one of these days. Well, luckily it's only a couple more days until I can possibly get REAL fish...then I'll have Dory and maybe one other one ;) So funny though.
