Now, just don't forget that ticket ... yes, that ticket right there.

So, off to Auckland for four days tomorrow to visit friends and go to the Big Day Out. Really looking forward to seeing Muse, but also the Violent Femmes and while I seem to be in a bit of a 'eh' phase about them, I'm sure The Killers will be worth seeing ... along with Tool, and I get the feeling I might be dragged to My Chemical Romance. *looks in asknicer's and yous_suxes direction*

Anyway, it should be awesome. I really loved the time I spent in Auckland last year and the weather is supposed to be good. My brain totally went on holiday a day early at work today though. Wow. I got next to nothing done, it was insane, and this is after yesterday, when I was in no way checking Golden Globe results at my desk. No, don't know what you're talking about. *cough*

Yay Hugh Laurie, I was surprised he won, and thought Michael C Hall maybe should have won, but yay Hugh! Helen Mirren is awesome. I also have a strange love for Jeremy Irons and was glad to see him win, and while I haven't seen a single episode of Ugly Betty, America Ferrera was adorable. Meryl Streep's speech rocked, as did Bill Nighy's and George Clooney was as awesome as ever.

Biggest WTF of the night was Alec Baldwin, but I haven't seen the show.

Grey's winning ... eh. I do like the show when I see it, but for some reason my love wanes every time I go a long period without seeing an episode.

On the superficial level. Rachel Weitz, Helen Mirren and Reese Witherspoon looked awesome and I quite liked what Naomi Watts and Sarah Paulson did as well. Big WTF?'s to Vanessa Williams and Cameron Diaz though. Also, something was up with Salma Hayek, and my flatmate and I couldn't quite work out what it was. She looked different though.

Also, the picture I saw today of Hugh and the Heroes cast was cute, though wow does Milo look like he not want to be there.

Also, randomly, I love the internet. It serves my history-geek mini-series needs admirably.

Edit: Finally, I realised that I actually haven't mentioned which Yuletide story I wrote. *cough* Almost Home (Gosford Park, Mary/Robert, PG-13) for sirikit.
