Can't cope, off to Queenstown till Sunday night.

Hope you all have a great week! I'm certainly going to try to.

Now, I admit I wasn't that enthusiastic about seeing this movie today, but as my brother didn't want to see Batman Begins; I decided I might as well go to this with him. Oh, how I wish I'd made a different decision.

Disclaimer: I was so bored, my eyes actually did close near the end, but after talking with my brother, I missed about five seconcds and they would have actually made me none the wiser about what actually happened. Also, I was more tired while I was watching Tape and I was at no point even close to closing my eyes in that movie, and it wasn't a big budget 'action' movie!

Yes, so bored. I didn't care, about any of the characters, at any point. I didn't quite wish the movie would end as much as I did when I was watching Alexander, but it was a little close for a while there. There was just no emotional attachment there, at all.

There were some cool moments, don't get me wrong. The special effects were very well done and there were some genuinely creepy moments (guy clawing through windshield, creepy red stuff) but all in all, very boring and plot holes the size of Africa.

The ending was just a total WTF? Now, I understand that we were seeing everything through Ray's POV, but damn it, some slightly less vague explanation would have killed them? Morgan Freeman is all well and good, but still with the vague. So. Annoying.

Tom Cruise was a toal and utter yawn and I think I know why I don't actually own any movies he stars in (although, I could be persauded to buy A Few Good Men). I've never really liked him as an actor and watching this made me realise it. Dakota Fanning was okay, as was Tim Robbins and Miranda Otto was hardly in it.

Also, returning to the ending, I have another movie to add to my 'Why Stephen Speilberg Must End Every (recent) Movie He Directs Happily Because God-Forbid That A Main Character End Up Unhappy' rant. Minority Report, A.I and now this. Why was everyone in their family okay in Boston!? How did Robbie survive!? Although this ending wasn't as annoying, but only because it came on the end of a really boring movie. Minority Report was actually a good movie until the end. A.I... yeah, not so much.
