I wrote fic! Harvey's angsty childhood made me do it. And I need to rewatch Casablanca.

This episode. Dude. Lots of feelings. Very well done though. Every character got a chance to shine.

Harvey is my favourite and so this episode was like cake as it basically involved slowly tearing him apart, and we got so many nice backstory moments, from the confirmation about his mother cheating on his father to the story of how him and Jessica met. You had to feel for him, even if he does bring some of it on himself.

Jessica was fucking awesome btw. Her and Harvey's scene at the start and the way she effectively sliced him up for his own good by pointing out that he does care. Which yes, also worked in her favour. Love. Her.

Which gets me to Donna. Oh god, Donna. She's understandably angry and then she turns up and ... oh honey. I am surprised they've got this route with Harvey and Donna, I thought it would be kept more subtle but uh, not so much. I think I like it? I mean, I adore them together, but I am also going to wait and see. This could go badly. I also need to know how much Harvey did fight for her. What went on during that scene in 2.05 with Jessica? I hope there's more to it because he is going to have the prove to her that he does care/did fight. She made some good calls in that conversation. Oof. I just want them fixed and back together damnit, although I appreciate that the show isn't making that easy.

Zoe was fun. She can come back. You could tell Gabriel and Jacinda were having a little fun with it too.

And I haven't even talked about Louis. That scene with Harvey in the bathroom (always in the bathroom this show, but then it's better than Newsroom's habit of having incredibly personal conversations in the middle of a newsroom) was intense. I love how nuanced Louis is as a character and Rick Hoffman was great.

Mike was a sort of adorable puppy. I like him, I do, but he's really not my main source of enjoyment in this show.

And oh the ending. Harvey actually listens to Mike and fucking cares about what this trial will do to the people around him, going against his instincts to not trust a Hardman deal and doesn't vote with Jessica ... and then it back-fires on him. Ouch.

I'd also like to take a minute to appreciate this:

"Zoe, I'm still unconvinced I should hire you instead of Ted Phillips. After all, Harvey never tried to sleep with Ted Phillips."
"Who says I never tried to sleep with Ted Phillips?"

GOLD. I love you, Harvey. Gabriel's delivery is great too. He just delivered it straight like he was genuinely affronted that Jessica thought he didn't try to sleep with that dude. Awesome.

And in conclusion:

Gabriel Macht has a good face. I have too many feelings about this show.

New temp job is a world of eh, but employment is a good and I actually applied for a "real" job today!

And then I wrote 800 words of depressing Harvey backstory. Good times. I needed to get that out of my head. And I'm not at all eyeing kudos. Nope. Not at all.

Next time, happy story! If there is a next time, because that's the first thing I've actually posted since Yuletide. There is much happier hockey fic in my GoogleDocs somewhere. I need to write that.

Olympics are still rocking my world. Those three golds the British had this morning (NZ time) were awesome. Also delighted for Gabby Douglas and allll the NZ rowing golds, especially Eric Murphy and Hamish Bond. Adorable dudes.

God the songs from Prime's promos keep getting in my head. However, I do find myself more intrigued by Elementary than I thought I'd be due to watching the promo so. many. times.
