Emmy nomination thoughts:
- I can’t say I’m surprised by the Fringe snubbing to be honest. It sucks, but I’m not baying for blood, which is perhaps a reflection of how realistic I thought the chances were in the first place. *sigh*
- Community on the other hand I thought had more of a shot, but no. Nothing at all. That really sucks.
- While the inclusion of John Noble would have made it perfect (no offence Andre Braugher, I’m sure you’re great) the Supporting Actor - Drama category is pretty damn awesome. Josh Charles. Alan Cumming. Peter Dinklage. John Slattery. Hell yes.
- In fact all The Good Wife nominations were awesome.
- Two nominations for Idris Elba. Yes! I support him getting any recognition. (I should really watch Luther, shouldn’t I?)
- Of course Gwyneth got a Guess Actress nom. *sigh*
- No NPH or Jason Segel. :(
- Johnny Galecki?
- Yay Martha Plimpton. I don’t watch her show I’ll admit but she’s been awesome in everything else I’ve seen her in.
- I love Hugh Laurie but really, still?
Schadenfreude section:
- No noms for True Blood’s awful S3 (exception: I’d have been okay with Dennis O’Hare getting one).
- Lea Michelle and Matthew Morrison both didn’t get acting noms.
Ridiculous fangirl section:
- Josh was adorable in his waistcoat and him in Melissa were great together. I loved him congratulating her.
- Also, my guess behind the excessive smiling? Well he is a pretty cheery dude, but also caffeine. A lot of it. He was probably up at 4am and I would be surprised if he’s a morning person. ;)
- I’ve seen a lot of ‘Why was Josh even there if Fringe got nothing?!’ and to be honest, I think a FOX show had to be represented because the telecast is on FOX this year and it might have just been a nod to a show they realise won’t get awards love but has a cult fanbase. Joel McHale did it last year and Community got nothing as far as I know. *shrugs* I was just happy to see him ngl.
Overall: eh. There's some good there don't get me wrong, but eh. I do need to watch Justified and Friday Night Lights though. And Breaking Bad. And Luther. And ... lots of things.
The closer Comic-Con gets the more sad I am it's currently Josh-less. After a period of relative calm I'm back to over-thinking all things Fringe. *headdesk* I'm probably worried about nothing, I realise that.
Now if you'll excuse me I have some TV Tropes tabs open. I may be sometime.
