There is late afternoon sun in my living room!
This weekend has been awesome weather wise. I can't remember the last day I comfortably spent basically all day in short sleeves. I used to think I didn't really have a season preference, but late Spring/Summer, you win. Suunshiinne.
I have been mainlining Veronica Mars S2. I've known what's happened for ages, years even, but I just hadn't got around to getting the DVDs myself and then my local video store had them. \o/
I doubt most of these will be that original, most of what I'd read about the season proved true. It definitely wasn't as good as S1, I never really felt that engaged with the mystery of the season, and "Donut Run" was just wrong. I think that in the end though there were enough good moments, and I like the characters enough that I would buy the DVDs.
I didn't find Hannah as annoying as I expected to though. And Jackie became a lot more bearable at the end there.
The best bit was probably when the stadium came down on Thumper, and Logan being the one to push the plunger. That packed a punch even though I knew it was coming.
I know that a lot of people also had issues with Veronica, and I see their point especially in 'Donut Run' (and just the way that ep was done with the audience on the outside) but overall, I still liked her a lot at the end, and she was still my favourite character, closely followed (in no order) by Logan, Mac and Keith.
I also thought "Not Pictured" tried to just a little too much trying to tie up all the loose ends. They really should have tied off some of those stories in the ep before and just concentrated on the bus crash/Woody/Beaver thing. I will say though, that I have not loved Duncan more than when he had CW kill Aaron.
As for Beaver, it really didn't sit that right with everything that went before. It really came out of nowhere, and I also totally thought he was setting Phoenix Land Trust out to fail with it being in Kendall's name.
I'm still going to try and hunt down S3 though. ;)
I also caught SGA 4x11, and honestly? Eh. I liked Daniel and Rodney a lot, but other than that, I have no real strong thoughts, just indifference. I think Gero's done better.
