ARGH! - and Funny Talent Audition Story!

Odd combination, huh?

Bad stuff first, then good stuff.

That guy I wrote about in several posts previously? Grawr. Pissing me off. I go on to my facebook just to check some stuff and he messaged me. I just don't want to talk with him at all right now. Knowing him, after hearing "how I'm doing", the next question will be, "Can we hang out sometime?". And not phrased as a question, truly. He'll wrap some sort of manipulation tactic into it. He hasn't learned at all that I've been picking up on that and running for the hills.

I'm just doing the distancing thing right now and hoping he eventually takes a hint and leaves me alone. If I absolutely must respond at some point, so be it. But I'll be tapering off talking with him.

He just....after the other shit he's pulled, just SEEING what he types pisses me off, no matter how innocent it appears. Add into it the fact I'm really not interested in being around anyone currently, and it just serves to irritate me further when someone doesn't get the hint. This week is plenty busy enough for me already, and I'm not going to add to it. I'm just focusing on getting through everything until next wednesday. I'm going to be taking a hiatus from performing at that restaurant locally after the last two gigs I have scheduled - Thursday and next Tuesday. I'm just way too tired and moody for it, and I'm not raking in a lot of tips at the moment anyway.

Funny Audition stuff!

Heh.

Well, I went in to audition for the second annual city talent show today. I'm likely in it again, as I was in it last year as well, but shall see, as I had a very short audition due to the fact I relapsed and puked just a enough this morning to ruin my voice for a couple days. I couldn't push too far, or I'd be risking voice damage.

So I sang 30 seconds of the song I like, just the beginning bit, no chorus, because the chorus was too high with my voice in the shape it was in.

But the real story is BEFORE I went up.

See, I was written down to audition at 5:20pm, and they had only just started up for the day at 5pm. We came into the area to hear and see this guy trying to hip hop dance and singing in an absolutely tone deaf voice. It really reminded me of that chinese guy several years back, on American Idol. It was sad.
He couldn't do either.
He looked more like a duck dancing, and then this off tune mumble singing.
I WILL give him props for being very into his act, however. He wasn't a bad guy, just was completely oblivious to how he actually sounded. I kept smiling while scribbling down my info on the entry form.
But I finished filling out my form and sat down, and to my surprise, they ushered me up next, even though it was early, and it seemed as though there was another girl waiting! Hahaha. PArents think maybe they wanted a break from the bad auditions and recognized I was a past contestant that had a good rap from all of my performances.

I expect I've made it back into the talent show, but I might be surprised yet. Shall see. I know Sufey adored the song lyrics she heard, and I did it well a-capella, considering my state. I performed the same song in my set at the Exhibition, so its very familiar ground.

Tarja Turunen's "I Walk Alone":

"Put all your angels on the edge,
Keep all your roses I'm not deeeaadd~
I left a thorn under your bed.
I'm never Gone.
Go tell the world I'm still around,
I didn't fly I'm coming dooownn~
You are the wind the only sound.
Whisper in my heart, when hope is torn apart...
And no~ one can save you!"

And then it leads into the chorus. But that the first bit I sung. My favourite lines in the song must be "Keep all your roses I'm not dead" and "I didn't fly I'm coming down". So much fun singing this song, as I always think of a popular villain-ness saying all this! And I like being a villain for it. =D

Sufey adored the second line - I saw her get a sly grin on her face at the words. Had everyone hanging on them. It was a bit shocking for them when I stopped, I think, as it was silent for a moment before everyone broke out in applause.

I need to record a cover of this song. Now my computer likes me. Hmm. Just have to grab the backing track from the upstairs one sometime...

-getting ideas-

boys, pg's got talent, guys, frustrating, auditions, ugh, funny
