I love my 6th period class best--I can get away with the nerdiest jokes like with this one kid who spells his name "Daimien." Who the hell puts an 'i' in the middle of 'Damien?' My brain did this kinda word-play and I realized that the spelling of his name also makes "Dai" and "Mien." Which, in Cantonese, "Dai" means "big" and "Mien" could be switched around to be "Mein" which is "Noodles." So now I call him Big Noodles. I'm seeing how long I can get everybody else to do it. I also mispronounced a girl's last name--DeBakey--as "DeBaker"--and now I can't get it unstuck. On the other hand, I told her it was a hitman's handle, but I don't think that made her feel much better.

7th is my dirtiest minded--not three days and I had to pull out the "if you want to talk about that then I will effing talk about my period" card. They squirmed nicely.

5th period thinks they're smart, too, and so far I haven't been able find a good smackdown, but I think I'll go with Kate's method of, "Did you just hear a noise?" and go back to teaching. And during a round of "Two Truths One Lie", one of the kids called me fat!! This class is not on my good list, definitely, although I've already recruited five of them to Anime club, which gives them some plus points. But not many.

3rd so far has not shown a whole lot of attitude except a lot of sweetness...looks like I've won over the good kids, anyway. Everybody else isn't awake yet.

4th can't SHUT UP. They're sweet, but like most ADHD kids, a second after they're told to shut up, they forget that they're supposed to shut up and start chattering again. LeClair joked there'll be 15 mods for this class. Unfortunately, he was RIGHT. There ARE fifteen mods for this class.

Was not feeling on top of things today until I'd eaten something. Might have to do with the fact I stayed up past midnight yesterday and got up at 5:30am. Must go to bed by 10 tonight! So wishing I had not taken two-hour nap just now, have thrown everything off schedule. From now on--eat dinner at 4-5pm, exercise around 8pm, sleep by 10:30. Today, though, get on the cycle for 30min at 9:30 and try not to vomit up supper.
