We live in a world filled with stress, pressure and expectation. If it's not from our boss, it's from our friends, family, hey, even ourselves. Where is our world heading? I wake up every morning knowing that I have to go to school and that I have to do this and that. Am I happy? Sometimes, I guess. Sometimes not. It would be nice to put all this stress and everything, aside at times. To let my mind run freely and explore the world of imagination and fantasy. To be inspire and to feel happy. Now I'm not saying that I'm not happy already, because I'm happy. But I do believe that I, as well as all other human beings in this world needs something extra. To some it might be a suger rush but to me it's something else. Something more technical. TV series.
I remember when I was younger, during the 90's, when Fame was being aired. I never watched it. In fact, I don't think I liked it. I don't really remember to be honest. But to all of those who were watching this show I bet it was more than just a show to them. Maybe they were able to relate to one of the characters or recognize some of the scenes as episodes in their own ordinary lives. Perhaps it was because of the fact that they could let go of their real lives for a while and enter a world where they didn't have to worry about anything. To be inspired, as have been mentioned before.
I used Fame as an example, beucase all series are a like. I hadn't given this much thought before I began watching Men In Trees. This show really made me open my eyes and see that there is something more to a series than just the stunning actors and actresses. It inspired me to smile, to want to love, to want to be love and all other rubbish. TV series has given me the opportunity to open up my mind and enter the world of freedom where everything is possible and helped me through the roller coaster of life.
I therefore believe that TV series are an important part of our lives. We need them to take things of our mind and just enjoy the drama, comedy or action the series brings us. The time off even obstruct an early burnout, at least I think so. TV series, the key to freedom.
