For myself, I have part of my true name but I do not feel I have the right to go by that name without more knowledge of the woman who was called Romana. Until the day comes that I receive such knowledge, I remain Fred.

Some have called me Romana, and I do not mind it, but I truly prefer Fred.

Yes, I suppose it is different for everyone here.

Fred has become a part of you just as much as Spring has become a part of me. Perhaps that is why it is hard to let the name go, even after we have found our real names.

That is, indeed, part of it. Though by that reasoning, the opposite is also true: by choosing to go by your true name, you can use it to reclaim your past self, even if you do not exactly remember who you are just yet.
