Who: Dave and Fio
What: More Plotting
When: Thanksgiving Break
Where: Their hotel room

Dave paced in front of Fio, ecstatic and more than a little nervous. “Fio, dude, Fio, I kissed him.” He practically shouted, grinning wildly. “And he wants me to try again. Do you realize how insane this is!” David exclaimed, facing his friend.

Fio watched her friend with a small smile. He was so excited about the whole situation and she was happy for him. Fio was glad that at least someone was going to get their crush. “I told you that you two would do well together. I’m happy for you.” She offered with a small smile. “You just need to figure out what to do for this new first kiss.”

David opened his mouth to, dare he admit it, gush a little more, but her tone was hard to miss. “Hey,” he started, grasping her shoulder and staring at her seriously. “Do you.. want to talk? About, y’know, all that junk?” He asked timidly.

She glanced up at him and gave a small shrug. “Dunno.... What would you think if I dyed my hair black?” She asked, trying to switch the subject before she started to bawl her eyes out. The fact that she was no longer talking to Jason was still pretty painful.

David frowned, a sad amusement lacing his expression. “It would look terrible.” He engulfed her in a hug. “You don’t have to change, Fio. I’m sorry Niki fucked things up for you two,” he murmured against her temple.

Fio gave a little shrug. “I don't know. I think it might be a fun change. I’m feeling in the mood for something a little more dark anyways.” At Dave’s giant teddy hug, she leaned into him and pressed her forehead to his chest. “Sorry, this isn't about me and the drama reminding me that I will be eternally single. This is about you and your chance at Kurt.” She tried to offer him another smile. “You need a plan.”

“Not black, that’s too dark. What about... Well, maybe. I don’t know. I’m a boy, what do I know?” He teased, before shaking his head. “Hey, this doesn’t have to be all about me. I’m sure I could win Kurt over pretty easily. Is it your turn for a sappy movie night? Cuz I’d totally be game for that.” Dave led Fio to the bed, and they both sat on the end. “I’m thinking flowers.” He said anyways, “there’s just one teeny, tiny problem.”

The comment actually made Fio smile a little wider. “You really think that flowers are going to cut it for Kurt? There is no chance you’re gonna get him by thinking that small. “ She moved to sit crosslegged on the end of the bed. ‘I’d rather focus my energy on you right now Dave. There’s nothing I can do about what happened and trying to focus on it is not going to change it. What will make things better is seeing my boys happy.”

David grinned, deciding to let it go--for now. “I don’t know.. I mean.. I’m not exactly itching to start screaming that I’m gay from the rooftop, but I was kind of thinking that maybe... I could sing to him? Like, surprise him in his room, or in the library?”

“Now that is a good start. He likes music. Library has a chance of people noticing, so don't do that if you’re not ready for the repercussions. You could try one of the music rooms though. I could get a key from my flute teacher and let you guys in.”

David leaned forward. “Could you, like, give me the key and tell Kurt to meet me there? That’s romantic, right? Yeah.”

“Sure. I could do that.” She offered with a smile. “I can help you set it up too if you wanted. You’ll want to make everything perfect after all. This is Kurt after all, he’ll expect the best.”

Dave nodded. “What song should I sing? I’m really terrible at that kind of sing. I.. crap.” He laughed. “I’m gonna be stressing about this!” He shook his head at his own behavior.

Fio smiled at that " is there's a song that you hear that makes you think of him?" that was probably the best route. "Any song that has your feeling behind it is a good one."

David hummed, stroking his chin playfully. “What about Iris, by the Goo Goo Dolls?” He asked after a silent pause.

"I like it." she said with a smile. " are you going to straight sing to him acapella or do you want music. Are you gonna dance? You should give him a rose " she added, finally excited and sounding more like herself.

Dave blushed lighty. “Uh.. I don’t think I’ll dance. Unless I danced with him? A slow dance? That would be kind of cool.” He nodded to himself. “And yeah, music. But j-just a karaoke version, on a CD I think.” David looked at Fio. “A rose? What kind? Just one?”

She grinned widely.. “Ooo.... hmmm white rose or red rose. That’s such a hard choice. A white rose is a very masculine sort of appeal to it, but red roses are so traditional....” Fio honestly looked seriously in thought about what would obviously be a better choice.

“What about one of each?” He prompted with a hopeful grin.

Fio seemed to ponder that. “Yes, you can have one on the piano and one in your hand to give to him before the song!” She clapped her hands and smiled up at him. “Aww this is going to be so romantic....” She let out a sigh. At least someone was going to have some romance, even if it wasn't her.

David smiled and tucked a hair behind her ear. “Thanks,” he said again. “It means a lot that you’re helping with this.” He leaned forward and kissed her temple. “Now c’mon, you look like you still need a hug.” He opened his arms with a dorky grin.

Fio laughed a little, but climbed into his giant arms and cuddled against him. “What I need is a boyfriend.” She said playfully. Being around Dave at least made her feel better about things. “I’m happy to help you out getting the boy of your dreams. I think in the long run you and Kurt’ll be awesome!”

He blushed. “I hope so,” Dave agreed timidly, before smirking at Fio. “You’ll get the man of your dreams soon, I know it. Someone would have to be stupid not to want a girl as awesome as you.”

Fio gave a small smirk. “Stupid or gay?” she winked at the little joke. “You should’ve talked me out of going after Jason.”

David frowned. “I thought it would work out,” he said in his own defense. “Plus, you liked him so much. I really didn’t want to be the one to, like, crush your dreams or anything.” Dave ruffled her hair. “He doesn’t deserve you.”

She scrunched her nose when he ruffled her hair. “Daveeee!” She huffed at him, but the smile was still on her face. This was actually the best she’d been feeling all week. “Still, you should’ve been psychic or something and known.” Fio teased before sighing. “I really did think that we’d work out together... I thought that because we were opposites, we’d work well together.”

He nodded. “Dude, look at me and Kurt. Maybe you and Jason were just.. too different.” He suggested. “Cuz, seriously, opposites do attract.” Dave tilted his head at Fio. “You’ll find someone.”

“Yeah.... You don't happen to have any cute friends, right?” It felt good to talk to Dave about it. It calmed her down, and stopped to urge to dye her hair and go goth for awhile at least. “I guess if I’m meant to find someone, I will. I’m glad you and Kurt are though. I knew you two would be awesome together!”

David snickered. “None that are straight,” he said apologetically. Sighing heavily, he flopped onto the bed, on his back. He motioned for Fio to lie with him, grinning sympathetically. “It’s just a matter of time.” David finally spoke, definitively. “And stop saying that,” he teased.

Fio moved to lay back and curl into his side. Laying with Dave just reminded Fio how little she really was. “ Why? I think it’s fantastic and I love you both and want you both happy. You’d better make him happy Dave.” She tried to look sternly at him.

David outright laughed, because Fio could be anything--except menacing. All the same, he crossed his heart and saluted. “I don’t ever want to hurt him. Especially since he’s giving me this chance.”

At his laughter, Fio huffed and crossed her arms. “I am not being funny.” She pouted but nodded at his assurance that he wouldn't hurt the boy. “Don’t worry, I’m gonna give him the same stern talking to. He needs to know that he’s not allowed to hurt you either.”

Dave’s gaze softened, and he smiled again. “You’re too awesome.”

Fio cuddled against him closer. “Yeah, well you’re not too shabby either.” She winked at him. “I think you still owe me a plushie while we’re here though... and an even more awesome one because of all the free advice.”

Dave saluted again. “Yes ma’am! Whatever one you want. I’ll even bum cash off Niki to keep trying to win it for you.”

Fio scowled at the mention of Niki but nodded. “I’ll make sure to pick the best one then.’ She said with a grin finally.

He sighed through his nose--cursing himself for mentioning Niki--but replaced it with a soft smirk. “Shall we head out now?” It was still light out. “I’m kinda hungry.” He added.

Fio nodded finally. “We shouldnt leave Mickey Mouse waiting... Oh, I’m gonna make you take pictures with the characters by the way.” She moved to slide off the bed and turned towards him. “Come on, let’s get going!”
