Who: Natalie, Jack and Connor
What: Defending Honors
Where: The Library
When: Monday, lunch time
Natalie sighed as she searched through the fiction section at the library. She needed something. She just didn’t know what. This was a common problem when she came to the library with no set book in mind. She scoured through hundreds of different covers, but came up with something.
Big brains and big asses, that’s definitely what Jack was interested in. He might have struck out with Brittany, but he figured that he had a fifty percent chance of finding someone who did actually have the lights on upstairs. People seemed to think that it was always the dumb girls who would sleep with you, but Jack not only liked more of a challenge, he liked a girl who could keep up a little.
He passed through the fiction section before someone caught his eye. It was the hot brunette who had smiled at him the first day. Puck had said she made out with him, so why not Jack? He sauntered over and smiled charmingly. “It’s so nice to see someone who can read and seems to know how to look in the mirror.”
Natalie raised her eyebrow, but couldn’t help smiling a little at the boy. “Oh? I suppose I should fall at your feet now for liking my ass as well as my brain, huh?”
“Well,” Jack drawled with a smirk, “I wouldn’t say no to that...”
Laughing despite herself, Natalie unconsciously fixed her hair. He was pretty hot. “Sorry, I’m not that easy.”
“I’d honestly be a little disappointed if you were,” Jack laughed in return, stepping closer. “Name’s Jack.”
“Lannisport, I know. My parents know yours.” Natalie didn’t mind the intrusion at all. “Natalie Stark.”
“Stark and Price. Riiiight. I already met young Mr. Price. He’s not a fan,” Jack pivoted to pin her against the bookcase. “Hopefully you find me a little more appealing.” He may have spent Friday with Santana, but he was already hungry again.
“Well, as far as appealing goes, you’re not exactly hideous.” Natalie’s hands slid up to his shoulders. Maybe she was on to something with the whole random guy thing. Jack Lannisport had a reputation following him, but few girls were complaining after a night with him. She could have easy, string free sex with someone who knew what to do.
Jackpot. “Yeah? That’s what my mom says a lot. That I’m not hideous.” Jack kissed the brunette’s cheek and her jaw and then dropped down to work on her neck, already set on leaving a mark.
“No hickies,” Natalie tried to say seriously, pushing lightly at his shoulders, but not really resisting.
Connor had been a couple of bookcases over when he heard Nat’s voice carry down the aisle. He popped his head out and listened for the direction it was coming from, only to be met with unctuous repertoire of Jack Lannisport. Rolling his eyes he slid the book he’d just pulled out back into its spot on the shelf. Heading down the walkway, he figured he’d try and save her from whatever sort of torment Jack was inflicting. Rounding the corner, he found Jack buried against Nat’s neck.
What happened next was beyond Connor’s control. For the majority of Connor’s life, he’d had anger problems. That noted, he tried hard to keep control on his emotions, but there were somethings that just set him off. One of them would be messing with his girl. White hot with rage he briskly covered the few yards between them. He pulled Jack off the bookshelf, and subsequently Natalie, with ease and clocked him hard across the jaw.
Jack didn’t really register what had happened until he fell back against the bookshelf behind him. That little fucker hit him. Hit him. “What the fuck, man?” He shouted as he grabbed the other boy by his collar and shoved him back.
“Connor, what the hell are you doing?” Natalie damn near shrieked as Jack was ripped away from her and subsequently punched in the face. When Jack shoved him in return she tried to hold him back. “Stop it. You guys are being retarded.”
Connor did the same as Jack, clutching his fists under his collar and shoving him back against the opposite bookshelf. His nostrils flared and he breathed heavily. Despite Natalie’s protest, he stayed locked in on the guy.
“Do you have a problem or something, Neanderthal?” Jack spat as he stared up at Connor with dark eyes.
Natale feebly tried to push the two away from each other. “Guys, stop it.”
“Just with idiots that don’t realize where they’re not welcome.” he spat out at him. By this time, the first wave of anger had petered out and he could actually hear Nat. Reluctantly, he let go of Jack, shoving him back hard against the bookcase. “I’m sorry Nat...” he muttered and stepped aside a bit.
“Fucking asshole,” Jack muttered as he straightened his clothes. He looked over at Natalie and rubbed his jaw. “What the fuck did I do?”
“I... I have no idea,” Natalie managed with a glare in Connor’s direction. She reached forward and touched Jack’s jaw softly. “You should put some ice on that.”
He didn’t bother to look at Jack, knowing full and well he’d probably just want to knock his lights out. He watched Nat, feeling himself get hot again as she cared for Jack. His hand fucking hurt from punching the guy that’d been all over her, and she was concerned about him. “Yeah, you should probably go see the nurse, Jack.” he said sternly, still just watching Nat.
Jack glared at Connor too. “Yeah, thanks, Natalie.” He almost turned to go, but before he did, he pulled Natalie close and kissed her hard, even though it hurt his jaw a little. With that, he left towards the kitchens to get something frozen for his face, flipping Connor off as he left.
Natalie looked away the second after Jack kissed her, but then her anger flared again when she remembered why she was uncomfortable at that moment. “What. The. Fuck?” she hissed at Connor when Jack stepped around her to leave.
He did his best to ignore Jack as he walked away- but deep down he wished he could just peg him in the back of the head with a nice hardback. Her harsh tone brought his attention back to her and sighed slightly looking away from her glare. “I... I told you to stay away from him, he’s trouble Nat.” he said, still a slight tone of anger in his voice.
“Are you kidding me?” she asked incredulously. “Am I five now? Did I get Benjamin Button disease overnight and start aging backwards? Please, tell me now so I can start shopping for a new baby blanket.” Natalie turned and started walking down the aisle.
“I’m just looking out for you, okay?” he sighed and reached out grabbing her wrist. “Nat, he’s bad news and you know it. I just...” he took a slow breath and looked down at her. “I don’t want you to end up just some other notch on his belt.
“Maybe I want to be a notch on his belt. He has a pretty good reputation when it comes to making his bedmates happy.” Natalie jerked her wrist away. “It’s not of your business anyway.”
“Fine.” he dropped his arm as she pulled away from him. “If you wanna be that girl go for it Natalie. I was trying to save you that humiliation. But hell- you were aiming for that, so might as well call him back here. I mean, you’ve gone this far. Why don’t you just fuck him up against the bookshelf?” he barked, his voice steadily growing louder and louder.
Natalie’s hand came up and connected with Connor’s cheek before she even thought about what he said. “Don’t you ever talk to me like that,” she hissed. “Or it’ll be the last thing you’ll ever get to say to me.” She turned on foot and stalked down the aisle.
His head snapped to the side as she slapped him. He didn’t get angry this time however, he knew he’d deserved it. Bringing his hand up he rubbed the red spot her hand had left and he stayed silent for a moment. He quickly began to go after her as she stormed away. “I’m sorry, Nat. You just deserve better than that guy.” he whispered as the passed down the rows of books.
Natalie crossed her arms as she walked, staring straight ahead. “I’m a big girl, thanks. I can make my own decisions. If I wanna fuck Jack, then I’ll fuck Jack. If I wanna fuck Mr. Kinney the janitor, I’ll do that too. You don’t get a say in it. Nobody does. It’s my life.”
“I know that, alright. That’s why I’m here running after you down a library corridor.” he quickly darted in front of her and put his hands on her shoulders to stop her. He looked down at her sincerely. “Look Nat, I’m sorry for busting into your life. In my opinion you could do better. But if he’s the guy you want, then I’ll support you,” he sighed.
“Like who?” she asked stubbornly, looking up at him with creased brows. “Who should I be aiming for instead, exactly?”
He averted her eyes again and shrugged slightly. “I don’t know who. Just not that guy. Anyone but that guy.” he sighed and rubbed her arms slightly. “Look, I already told you, if you want Jack- go for Jack.”
“I don’t want him, I just want someone,” she muttered, averting her eyes. Why had it been so much easier with Puck than Connor to talk about this stuff? “I want to have sex. Who better than a guy who’s really experienced and won’t get all mushy about it?”
ME! I’M BETTER! was all he wanted to yell at her right now. But that would be even more out of line than anything else he’d managed to tell her at this point. She wanted simple and easy... what kind of girl was she?! “I don’t know who. Alright? I just know, everyone I’ve hooked up with under those pretenses hated me afterward. I don’t think this would be any different for you. You have to pick someone you care about, Nat. You just do...”
“Like you do with all the girls you sleep with?” Natalie scoffed. “Come on. Were you making sure they were picking someone they care about? No. But maybe not all of them cared. Just because I’m a girl doesn’t mean I’m some innocent young maiden who’s totally naive when it comes to the bedroom.”
“Why are you still tearing into me?” he asked, defeated. “I already told you to do what you want. I was just telling you why I thought and did what I did because you asked.” He gently took his hands away from her shoulders, hoping she wouldn’t just storm away from him again. “I think you deserve better than that scumbag. But I have no say in the end, you’re right about that.”
“You wanna know something? I was talking with someone the other day about having sex, and he said that I should watch out for you because you can be such a self-entitled asshole. But here you are telling me that Jack is the same way.” Natalie huffed and stepped away from him. “You guys are probably more alike than you seem to think.”
“Or maybe I don’t think we’re so different after all, and that’s why I know you can do better.” he sighed. He had a reputation on campus, and until now he’d been rather proud of it. But the fact that she saw him in this light for the first time ever was almost unbearable.
“Listen,” she said when she finally looked up at this face, “I don’t care how many girls you’ve slept with, but it doesn’t really put you in any position to judge anyone when it comes to sex.”
“Actually...” he looked at her with a cocky grin. “I’m pretty sure that makes me a sexpert,” he continued to grin and pushed her hair back behind her ear. “But you’re right. I won’t judge you Nat.” He softly brushed her cheek as he brought his hand back.
Natalie rolled her eyes but had to bite the insides of her cheeks to keep herself from smiling. “Good,” she said, nodding at his words and turning to the right to walk away slowly, “because you were one of the guys in the running.”
He laughed and hoped his cheeks weren’t burning red at that very moment. “We just decided this. Guys like me don’t deserve girls like you, Nat.” He stepped to her side and wrapped his arm around her shoulders. “But uh... thank you,” he laughed, giving her a soft squeeze.
“Well, if you don’t want it, then I’ll scout someone else out. There was a freshman I had my eyes on anyway,” she replied with no hint of joking in her voice.
Connor frowned and looked over at her with a furrowed eyebrow. “I’m not letting you have your first time with some nitwit freshman who wouldn’t know what goes where.” He shoved her slightly.
“As long as I know where to put it, it shouldn’t be a big deal, should it?”
He shrugged. “I can tell you I’ve come a way since my first time. You’re nervous, and they’re nervous.” he looked at her. “Since then, it got easier and as far as virgins go, I’ve had my share... I think they appreciate that I know what I’m doing. Why are you so gun-ho about this anyway?” Natalie always struck him as the content type, if she said she was ready, he believed her. He was just wondering why she suddenly was so interested.
“I don’t know. Margo’s been talking about having sex and I’ve wanted to do it for awhile.” Natalie shrugged as she stepped out of the library. “I really want to.”
“Well, out of all the girl’s here, you’ve got the best head on your shoulders in my opinion.” he smiled again and dropped his hold on her. “The guy that you decide is the best... he’s gonna be a really lucky guy.” He smiled and walked along the sidewalk with her. “Even if it is that tool...”
Natalie rolled her eyes a little, still keeping herself a half-step ahead of him. “It’s going to be you, dumbass. Not if you go around punching every guy who looks at me though.”
He lifted an eyebrow with a grin and reached out, pulling her back to him. He spun her so they were face to face. “And why am I the lucky one?”
“I don’t know,” Natalie said, shrugging it off. “You’re my friend.”
“Well, as you friend, I promise I’ll do my best,” Connor chuckled. He leaned forward and gave her a soft kiss on the middle of her forehead.
Natalie sighed at the kiss and leaned in so her head was resting on his shoulder. “Good. And no... making us weird. If we’re doing this, it’s not gonna be weird.”
“No weirdness. Anything else I need to add to this little contract?” He smiled and wrapped his arms around her, hugging her lightly.
“You can’t tell anyone,” she replied immediately.
Connor nodded, not saying anything at first. “I mean, you’re the one running around asking everyone to sleep with you.” he chuckled. “But I’ll keep it between us.”
Natalie scoffed and pushed him away, but she was smiling a little.
