Since moving to LA, the ties I had with my friends have loosened. In 2003, if I didn't live with you (though with the number of people in my apartment, odds are I did) you heard from me only a small amount through the filtered magic of the internet. Now, in 2004, with the number of roommates being reduced to a magical "one", anyone here that has been a friend in the past probably hasn't heard from me in a minimum of three months. If you are one of these friends, I'm sorry to tell you that I do not reserve a special rejection for you alone. I spread my empty phone calls and one liner emails to people across California, and not just, say, Tami, Aaron, Matt, Jason, Trystan, Raymond, Nick, Eric, Rup, and Tanya.

When I use the term "friend", I'm not referring lightly to the list of people on the list in my profile. And while the rest of you who I haven't necessarily met in person I did find witty, interesting, and/or brilliant at one time and even now, I no longer have the personal time and have too much personal guilt to sacrifice any more of myself on NOT keeping myself at least substantially aware of my friends. It is in this vein that I am making a very harsh cut of my list. Anyone who is cut will not feel half as personally rejected as the ones who are not being cut have felt the past two years or so.

Also, I would like to suggest to anyone that feels compelled that they drop me a line chastising or even cursing me for my neglect. I'll be the first person to agree.

This also isn't an indication that I am immediately turning a new leaf and will be hitting the hottest clubs with my huge posse. I work a full time job, go to school practically full time, maintain a serious boyfriend and smoke way too much weed. But by god this is the beginning, I swear to you.
