[Vardaark Amber's tat]

Amber stood in front of the full length mirror in one of the training rooms, her head craning over her shoulder to stare at her newly healed back.

At the base of her neck, visible with most of her shirts, was an intricate helmet with wings that came from the side, the infinity symbol on the front of the helmet along with the phrase ‘Chooser of the slain’ and from her head fell a tightly bound braid that rested on her shoulder. Her face was modeled after the leader of the Valkyries, the woman who saved Amber and was her ultimate idol; she knew she would never admire anyone as much as she did Orion.

Her sharp features stared determinedly at Amber’s face, whose eyes drifted downward to the warrior’s clothing, an odd mix of modern and traditional. She wore a long black leather vest with an overlay of chainmail, and long thick fingerless gloves hugging her arms up to her elbows. She also donned long slightly lose black pants that were tucked into thin, flat boots that hugged her calves almost to her knees. On her right forearm there was a tattoo of an upside down peace side that reminded her to never hope for a nonexistent peace.

A handgun was easily seen holstered at her side, while her hands gripped a pair of Shuanggou(hook swords). The sword that overlaid the other was inscribed with the words ‘Don’t hesitate and Go’, and Amber smiled wistfully as she saw it; it certainly described her well.

While the woman stood-facing forwards-directly upon her spine, and her feet stood out in a slightly spread out stance that spanned several inches on either side of the small of her back, her wings covered her shoulder blades entirely.

They were large, the highest point coming to just above her helmet and the lowest was slightly hidden by her hips. They were devil wings at first glance but interwoven with the scales of the wings were angel’s feathers, the two contradictions appeared to be coexisting in harmony somehow.

Finally there was the words, in graffiti style were the words ‘Live fast’ between the peak of her left wing and the helmet, the words ‘Die Young’ in the same position with the right wing and at the small of her back where a tramp stamp would normally be was her favorite part.

‘Leave a nice smelling corpse’ written in a long elegant scrawl, the letters emitting flames that wound back up to circle the woman, forming an infinity sign behind her.

All in all the ink took up her entire back, the woman’s boots coming up just above the small
of her back and her toned body taking up the entire center of her back with the wings over taking her sides. It was terribly realistic, and terribly painful with the enormous amount of shading that went into it. None the less, she couldn’t be more pleased.
