Author's Note: Sorry this took so long! And it's so short! But i just wanted to get it out.
“What do you mean you don’t have it?! How can you not have it?!”
A deep monotone voice responded, “I’m sorry miss. I regret to inform you that the store doesn’t have the CD you’re asking for. If you’d like we can order it for you.”
“Ugh. No! I want it now!”
Puck discreetly rolled his eyes. “I’m sorry. Maybe you can try the Music Emporium?” The young teenage girl scurried out of the store in a huff.
Puck trudged up towards the counter. “Damn. The store is getting raped by these teenage girls.”
Quinn sighed, pulling off her glasses to rub her eyes. “It’s all that damn Korean pop music. It makes girls crazy. I don’t get why they don’t listen to real music.”
She heard her boss Figgins barking from his office, “Q! Get in her right now!”
She hurried into his office. “Hey Mr. F. What do you need?”
He spoke his Indian accent shining through, “What I need is to stop losing money! You’re going to go to the Music Emporium and find out what kind of music is popular with the young people. And be sneaky about it! Terri Giardi would never let me forget it if she found out! Go!” He waved her out of his office.
She walked into the locker room to grab a change of clothes. Kurt and Mercedes were in there, talking like usual. She reprimanded them saying, “I thought I told you guys you weren’t allowed to take breaks at the same time.”
They both shot her a yeah right like we would listen to you look. She sighed, “Whatever. Just get back out there soon. I’m leaving on a recon mission.” She riffled through her locker. “I need a disguise.”
She turned slowly when she felt their eyes burning into the back of her head. Kurt spoke saying, “A disguise? I smell a makeover.”
Mercedes clapped her hands together. “Hell yes. We’re gonna make you one hot mama.” They both pulled their cell phones out and began texting.
Quinn asked nervously, “What are you doing?”
Kurt responded, “Calling Artie and Tina to take our shifts. This is going to take awhile.”
---------------------
Hours later, a new Quinn Fabray emerged from a haze of perfume and hairspray. A Quinn Fabray who wore dresses and contacts and whose hair wasn’t always in a ponytail. A completely different Quinn Fabray.
Kurt and Mercedes looked on, proud eyes shining. Kurt sniffled, “This is our greatest work.”
Mercedes squeezed his hand. “The Queer Eyes would be so proud.”
Quinn let out a light laugh. “Okay guys. Thanks for the clothes but I really should be going. The Emporium is closing soon.” She walked out, wobbling slightly in her heels.
Kurt wiped his eyes. “This must be what it’s like for a mother doe to watch her baby take its first steps. He held out his hand and they wiggled their fingers together.
---------------------
The automatic doors slid open. Quinn entered the Music Emporium. The chattering of teenage girls met her ears. It looked like every young girl in Los Angeles was inside the store. Figgins’ nemesis Terri Giardi was standing in the front handing out CDs as her sister Kendra rang up purchases.
Quinn sidled up to the nearest girl. “So what’s all this about?"
The girl replied, “They’re selling a compilation disc of all the artists that are going to be performing at KMF.”
“Oh. What’s KMF?”
The girl looked like she had been slapped in the face. “What’s KMF?! Kill yourself! How can you not know what the Korean Music Festival is? Any sane person would know that!”
Quinn backed away slowly. “Okay crazy.” She turned and let out a shrill shriek when she nearly bumped into a small redheaded child. The child stared up at her with wild eyes before running up to the counter and speaking to his mother.
Kendra looked up from the register and cocked her head in confusion. Quinn turned away quickly. She muttered, “Frick. What if she recognized me?” She hides in an empty aisle and watches the crazed teenagers through a gap on the shelves. How was she going to get one of those CDs?
She flinched when a hand pressed against her back. She spun around and breathed a sigh of relief when she found Rachel standing behind her. Her mood fell again when Rachel spoke, “Why are you here? Why didn’t you tell one of us? What if something had happened to you?! Thank God I put that tracker on your necklace.”
“Wait what? You put a tracker on my necklace? Why would you--?” She pulled at the cross around her neck. It was as flat and smooth as ever. “Never mind. Super spy Rachel Berry doesn’t explain anything.” Quinn was ranting. Rachel had refused to answer any of Quinn’s questions about her being a spy. Even if they affected her.
Rachel shot her a look. “You are a very important asset Quinn. Your safety is directly linked to the nation’s security. Why are you dressed like this?”
Quinn’s hand moved to pushed up glasses that weren’t there. “Why? You don’t like it? I’m in disguise.” She said this in a quiet whisper.
Rachel’s eyebrow quirked. “Disguise? Why are you in disguise? You look different. Beautiful, but different. It just doesn’t seem like you.”
Quinn sighed. “Figgins sent me to check out the music scene here. He’s going to be pissed when he finds out how much business they’re getting.” She fidgeted in her heels. “I can’t wait to get out of these shoes. They’re killing me.”
Rachel laughed. “They’re killing my neck. They make you so much taller than me.”
Quinn smirked. “I’m always taller than you, midget.”
Rachel huffed. “I am a perfectly average height. It’s not my fault you're abnormally tall."
Quinn laughed in response. “Oh! Since you’re here you can go buy me a CD! I’m afraid that the owners will recognize me and Figgins told me that I was to avoid that. So if you could go and grab on for me, I’d be eternally grateful.” She looked at Rachel with pleading eyes.
Rachel sighed, “Fine. But afterward you have to go somewhere with me. The bosses think they might be able to get it out of your head.” She walked out of the aisle and moved towards the mass of girls.
Quinn watched as she walked away. What would happen to her if they got the Intersect out?
