Its a good day.

Really, its a good weekend. I did all of my homework yesterday so that I wouldn't have anything to do today or tomorrow because I plan to spend as much time with Sam as possible while my parents are away. My father had to meet with some big corporate client in Amsterdam, and it looked better for him if he had his wife with him for all of the social ( Read more... )

...Sam's here!

I ran out of the kitchen as soon as I heard the knock, and headed for the door, pulling it open and smiling when I saw Sam standing there.

This is going to be a great weekend. Now that Sam's here, I'm completely convinced. Whether he likes the cookies or not, everything is going to be fine. We're going to have a good time with this.

"Hey."

"Hey." I jumped Sam and kissed him, then remembered I'd left a tray of cookies in the oven and that they'd probably be done within another minute, and calmed down, lowering myself back onto my own two feet, and standing up straight.

...I think that was a nice way to greet him.

"... Something cooking?""Cookies." I looked back towards the kitchen and let Sam in, closing the door behind him. "I need to go take them out. Come on." I ran ahead to get the cookies out, grabbing a pair of oven mitts when I reached the kitchen, and opened up the oven to see that they were fine ( ... )

"Hey."

Whoa. I just managed to catch her in time for the kiss, and then as fast as she started it, she was back down again. What was that about? I would have carried her in. I know I'm not that strong a guy, but it's not like she weighs a lot either. It'd be fun.

"Cookies."

Oh, cool. Marie made cookies.

"I need to go take them out. Come on."

"Sure." I laughed and followed her. Having her parents around is making her hyper on a level Arianna would even find interesting. I kind of like it on her. She should be this happy more often. And if I'm helping keep her happy, that's even better.

I waited in the doorway in the kitchen, watching her take out the cookies. Those actually smell really good. And they look pretty good too.

"I made you cookies."Oh, wait, she actually made them? ... She made them for me? Is she supposed to do that ( ... )

"Nope. Not one."

And if I cut some of the things I need to do this weekend a little short, and since they're not all that important I actually can, that means we've got plenty of time.

"No plans, no rules, no nothing. Just you and me.""Sounds great." I nodded and kissed her, before setting her on the counter carefully. "I don't have much going on, and even then, all the stuff I'm supposed to do doesn't take that long ( ... )

"They okay?"

"Uh huh." I took two more before sitting on the counter opposite her. "You should have some of these. You did a really great job." In fact, if she can make more of these whenever, I'm all for it. Where'd she learn how to make these?

Doesn't matter. I'm just happy that they don't taste horrible. I love these. I even feel bad I thought she might have done a bad job with the cookies in the first place. I should know better.

Because these are damn good.

"... I'm not kidding." I laughed when I saw that she looked like she didn't believe me. "These really are good." I swear it. Even if they'd been bad, I still wanted to find some way to be nice about it and still tell her the truth.

"Try it. I swear."

And while I'm at it, after I finish these two, I'll try more.

"You should have some of these. You did a really great job."

I'm not sure what to think of this. I've never baked anything before to know how I do at stuff like this. So either they really are good, and Sam wants to share, or he's trying to punish me for making him crappy cookies. I don't think Sam is the spiteful type, but its possible. If they were that bad, I'd probably deserve it.

This is tough. And there's only one way for me to be certain that they're decent, so I may have to try one. Just to see. And I could take a little bite first.

...I don't think Sam would be eating that many if they were bad.

They might really be good after all.

"... I'm not kidding. These really are good. Try it. I swear."

Well, if Sam swears I think we're okay. He wouldn't try to get back at me and then swear something is true when it isn't. Its not like him. He'd either tease me with a revenge cookie, or let it go. Sam isn't a mean spirited person, he knows I made them because I was trying to be nice ( ... )

"Okay. Not bad."Not bad? Try excellent. And I'll take a few more for the road, so we can go do something and I don't spend however long it takes finishing off the cookies. I don't want to look like an addict the first time she makes them ( ... )

"Want to go watch a movie or something?"

"Sure."

I followed Sam in, trying not to laugh at how many cookies he was holding, and went over to pick out a movie.

I think I'm going to stick with something that isn't Disney this time. He's already seen my collection, and he knows its pretty bad. I guess I just like happy movies. If I want to hear something depressing, I'll turn on the news. I don't need that when I'm with my boyfriend.

I want to think of happy things when I get to be around Sam.

"Just pick whatever."

Does 'whatever' include Dirty Dancing?

I love that movie. Zack and I are talking about doing something with it for the talent show. Like the big dance sequence. It would be a lot of work, but I think we could do it. He's talented enough for it, and I could be too if I practiced a lot.

"Cocktail?" I think cocktail works. There's love, and alcohol, and a bunch of other good things too. Its a decent movie.

I put it in and then went over to the couch and sat down with Sam, curling up against him.

"And the stuff I ( ... )

"Cocktail?"

"Yeah, sure." I nodded, munching on cookies while I waited for the movie to start up. I moved an arm around Carly when she finally sat down, getting us both comfortable, and turned my eyes to the screen again.

Carly, cookies, and movie. This is great.

"Okay, that's cool. Do you have a curfew?""Midnight, but it's, y'know, not set in stone if there's circumstances involved." Yeah, we've got plenty of time. Because 'circumstances' really could be anything, and if you plan on not coming home for a legit reason, all you have to do is make sure you call ( ... )

"Midnight, but it's, y'know, not set in stone if there's circumstances involved."

Circumstances?

I wonder if I could be a circumstance. I think that would be cool. He could call them up and explain that I'm in my house all by myself, and that its pretty big. If he acts like a nice guy about it and tells him that he doesn't want me to be alone or something, I bet they'd let him stay. They're Madsen's parents. They can't be all that strict if they raised a stupid stoner jackass for a son. I don't think they'd mind Sam staying here to look out for me.

Or if he thinks they would, he could just say that he's tired, and its late to go home, and he wants to stay where he is. I think that would probably work too, and it would sound better than him saying he wants to spend the night at his girlfriend's house. That might just sound bad no matter how you package it.

"Plus it's the weekend. Madsen's parents are pretty flexible on their rules." I don't think Sam is talking about them being quite as flexible as I'd like them to be, but I'm ( ... )

"Good."

Yeah, it is. Because it means a full weekend of this, and thensome. Whatever else we manage to come up with. I'll deal with Madsen's complaining when I go back, it's worth it.

I'm still doing the favor for him tomorrow, and I've been helping him with damage control when technically I don't have to, so he can't complain or get pissed at me all that much. And if I start hearing crap about loyalty, I'll walk away from the prank.

"I want to keep you for as long as I can get away with."I laughed. "I'm alright with that." I kissed her, keeping up with that straight through the previews, and got so involved it doing that, I didn't even notice the movie had started for a minute ( ... )

I settled down once the movie had gone more than a scene without us watching it, just because we said that was what we were going to do. We'll have plenty of time for kissing later, especially if I get my way about it. Sam promised me lots of time. If we have that much, don't need to distract ourselves from the movie, even if it is fun.

I started to relax and get into it, and remembered all the reason why I liked the movie when my sister watched it with me. Tom Cruise. He's a great actor. I definitely buy him as the cool, money loving bartender type. And Elizabeth Shue is cool too, even if she hasn't really made any good movies since Back To The Future.

Maybe we could watch that sometime.

"Be right back."I stopped leaning on Sam and sat up so that he could move, and wondered where he was going and whether or not I should pause the movie. Then I figured I'd leave it on, since he said he'd be right back anyway ( ... )

Cocktail isn't that bad a movie. I've always been at least alright with Tom Cruise, he's not a bad actor. And I've never seen this, but it turns out that I didn't miss much when it started. Easy to follow.

I offered Carly one of the cookies before I went back to eating, watching the movie silently. Then I realized they were gone all over again.

Damn. How do they go so fast? I'm going to finish them all after all. That's so weird.

I waited a few scenes before I didn't want to wait anymore, and then nudged Carly again. "Sorry. Be right back." I got up, went back into the kitchen, and grabbed double the amount I'd grabbed last time so if I slowed down a little I can make them last this time around.

Then I came back in, and sat down again. "Sorry." She has to be getting annoyed. I'll make myself stop after this. No more. I can hold off.

At least until the end of the movie. Then I want to go get more.

"Sorry. Be right back."

...Again?

I think Sam might like the cookies a little too much. If he keeps this up, he'll spend more time running to the kitchen than he will watching the movie.

I wouldn't mind it if he didn't like the movie, but this one is okay. I think his problem is that he's getting too distracted by the cookies. When they're gone, he wants more, so even if he doesn't do this again for a while, he might be thinking about cookies while we're watching this. And I don't think I like my boyfriend being that concerned over baked goods, so we're going to have to find a solution.

"Sorry."I let him sit back down with me just in time for the fun little beach sex scene, and tried to act fully invested in the movie so that it wouldn't be weird ( ... )
