xavi is so perfect in this i could almost believe it's true - at least, if it was true, that he would act like this. he does keep things so close to his chest and keep his private life separate from the club. the... contrast? juxtaposition? (forgive me, it's early) between him keeping his sexuality private because of the stigma of sports and then the added secret and pressure because of david's family was amazing, and heartbreaking.
and david, david, daaaaavid. dumped, heartsick david villa is the worst-best thing ever. i literally had to keep telling myself "it's fiction it's fiction" because it was so hard to read the scene where he is begging xavi. break-up fic is my thing though, and you did it so well, how it gets easier over time but then every now and then you get smacked back into it. ahh it hurts so good.
