Life has been worse
Well, here is the newest update ( not that there is much). :)
Work: The contract at Hartung ended a few weeks ago. I put in for pizza delivery, but havent been called back, despite being told I would be called & 2 messages left.I'm puzzled, for I know my driving record has been clean for 6 years, and they badly needed drivers. Oh well.
I found out that the Shipyard in Bremerton is hurting for people. Given my military experience, and having 2 degrees, it sounds like my chances of getting in are good. My military experience would count towards retirement, as well as adjust my start pay & vacation accrual. Wish me luck on this.
Social: Living way out between Port orchard & Gig Harbor is frustrating. Its at least 25 miles to see even 1 friend, and when you are trying to conserve gas, it limits your options. While the 6 pit bull terriers are human friendly, and the couple who lets me stay there are nice, it still leads up to a lot of isolation. I kind of went into a black hole of hiding in books, movies and a sewing project. It got to the point where I woke up at 5pm & went to bed at 7am. Things got turned back last night: I got to sleep earlier & woke up at 9am today; just in time to respond to a call for computer help from a friend on behalf of his church.
Sewing: I finally completed my tudor doublet a while ago. While I went into my metal hideyhole, I started working on a medieval shirt that has a rounded yoke for the top. Ive been wanting a shirt of this style for a long time, but they only came out with a pattern for it about 5 months ago. Its in a nice goldenrod color. I'll post pics when I get it done. :)
There isnt much else to say. To borrow the quote from Batman Begins:" Why do we fall? To learn to pick ourselves back up." I just wish I didn't have to fall some many times or as hard. :)
