Blerg!
- I just ate an entire box of macaroni and cheese by myself. For breakfast. What is my life coming to?
- I've been listening to the same 19 song playlist for the past two and a half weeks, and have yet to tire of it (this is a huge accomplishment for me).
- Just so everyone knows, Candace Cunard is a goddess among persons. She has in her possession one of my favorite books EVER, autographed by my literary hero. Candace, I do not know how, but I will find a way to repay you.
- My most recent fanfiction binge, which has been fueled by my efforts to avoid both illicit substances and thoughts of the research paper due tomorrow, is stopping now. Do you hear me, brain? Stop that, fingers; no more typing shipper names into search functions of any kind.
- BRAIN, I SAID STOP IT. Control thyself.
- So, aside from the time spent reading pages upon pages of useless, generic fluff, my weekend has mostly consisted of me playing musical beds in my apartment, trying to give alternating couples room to hump. It's been fun, but now my sleeping schedule is officially more fucked than it ever has been- and for me, that is saying a lot. I mean, prior to this weekend, I was turning in pretty consistently at 8:00 am, and waking up anytime between 3 and 7 pm. You probably think I'm exaggerating right now, and I'll tell you, I wish I was. Anyway, yesterday I went to bed at 1:15 pm and woke up at about 11 pm, and as of this morning, I have yet to go to sleep (although now that I'm literally full of scrumptious mac and cheese, I'm starting to feel nice and sleepy. Or possibly I just can't imagine moving from my bed without bursting. I don't know).
- The other night, my friend burst through my apartment's front door and grabbed my laptop from me. I assumed from her hurry and the intense excitement on her face that she was going to show me something awesome, so I was confused when she pulled up Craigslist and clicked on the "Missed Connections" section (which is where people post ads describing where and how they met a person they were romantically interested in, in hopes that that person will find the ad and contact them). She opened the m4w (man for woman) subsection and scrolled down to a post entitled "Lauren at Harry Potter party in Isla Vista Friday night." Now, I still have no idea why exactly my friend spends her time randomly browsing the missed connections segment on craigslist, but my name is Lauren, and I live in Isla Vista, and I was definitely at a Harry Potter party last friday night. We spent a good amount of time debating whether or not an effort should be made to contact this mysterious person, and while I still maintain that I actually won said debate, my friend, for her part, maintains that it doesn't matter if I won, since once in possession of her own computer, she immediately emailed him anyway. Luckily, as of now, nothing has come of it.
- I'm officially one of the Junior Guard instructors for the upcoming summer at the lake I work at. Right now I'm very excited about this. At the same time, I can't help noting that I was also very excited when anticipating my experiences coaching water polo, and that turned into a three month long nightmare- sort of like the kind where you realize you aren't wearing any pants, and are desperately trying to conceal that fact from everyone around you, except that instead of pants, I realized I did not have self-confidence or assertiveness of any kind. Hopefully this time around will be better, since I've already learned the most important lesson of being in charge of teenagers: that junior high and high school students are vicious little shits, who will eat you alive if you let them. Just kidding... sort of.
- Alright, having now downed half of a liter of soda in addition to my box of processed cheese noodles, I feel ready to relate to Liz Lemon even more than I normally do. 30 Rock, here I come (research paper what?).
