growing up

Growing up is something I will never be able to do. No matter how old I actually become, I refuse to age in my ideas and my carefree attitude and my laughter.

I had a very heartfelt and real conversation with a good friend last night. He's one of the only people I can talk about God with in Lansing, and it felt really good to be able to do that. We talked about our struggles with it since so many of our friends are so against religion, we talked about why we still follow Christ, etc. We also just talked about ourselves - our quirks, our likes, our dislikes. It was the first time in awhile someone genuinely tried to get to know me on a deeper level than what is usually discovered. It was beautiful. I cherish this person in my life so much - I am going to be very sad when I have to go back to Allendale and leave him here.

It's funny - when you try to make it a point to stay single and not even casually date anybody, you get asked out. Go figure.
