Completely obsessed with Jonny Lee Miller yet again. It's almost enough to make one watch Plunkett and Macleane. That movie is like every Merchant Ivory film on speed. It's ridiculous.

I can't believe how good his Scots accent is as Sick Boy. For the longest time I thought he was Scottish until I watched an interview with him and discovered he was British. Ridiculously talented.

And on that note...

Part Two: The Party At The Crown

Oh, the rescue of her friend even though he says he doesn't dance. Oh, I just could die. Marry me, Knightley!

Is it bad that the entire time Knightley and Harriet were dancing, I kept thinking of when Josh goes to dance with Tai at the frat party in Clueless? I kept thinking Emma was going to say to Frank "He's just doing her a props so she won't be left out!"

And that little moment where Harriet goes to leap into the line but Knightley pulls her back and whispers "Not yet" KILLS ME.

Knightley: Who will you dance with, hm?
Emma: Why, you, if you will ask me.
Knightley: Will you dance, dear Emma?

First of all, the bitch faces that Knightley keeps throwing at Frank are absolutely hilarious.

This entire scene reminded me of the Llendler from The Sound of Music except without the sexual tension. There is zero sexual tension in this scene, but it oozes with romance. You don't get from this scene a sense of "I want to nail you right now." You get a feeling of two people completely comfortable with each other.

And I absolutely LOVE, LOVE LOVE that there isn't a turning-point moment in the dance where they stop and look at each other and the strings swell and there's that gaze in their eyes like 'OH, LOVE IS IN THE AIIIIIR.' It's just two friends, having an absolutely wonderful time dancing together...and then those little, microscopic moments that telegraph a whole other world of thinking. The little smiles that Emma has on her face. Knightley looking over at her when she's not looking back. The downcast grins during their turns away from each other. Then, when Knightley realizes later that he's in love with Emma, he remembers the dance and it all clicks for him.

Coming up next...the confrontation Box Hill.
