scoot

Well, she is starting to go back together now. As everybody probably recalls, I seemed to have an air leak in the drive side oil seal. That became a good enough excuse for me to take the scooter apart, tear down the engine, and rebuild it again. It's a pity since all the parts I am taking out (and seals and gaskets that I'm replacing) all look really good and consistent with the previous owners assertions that the engine was rebuilt and not fully broken in yet. The only issue I could find was with the piston rings. A friend is giving me a new 62.0mm TV piston with rings, so I won't even have to replace those. Yippee!!!

I have snapped a few shots during the process, but don't think they can be put together as some sort of guide. Besides, scooterhelp.com, the LCGB.co.uk workshop section, LLoydy's page, and the Sticky manual seem to be way more than enough information for even the most mechanically-retarded and spatially-challenged people out there to navigate the process(es).

I need to have an old bearing race pulled off the crankshaft. I can't seem to get the damn thing off. I need to look up a machinist shop, or use a different approach with it. Anyhow, hopefully it all gets together soon so I can actually enjoy the Spring weather (it's already getting too hot in my opinion, however).
