I WAS TOTALLY AWESOME TODAY!
...and claimed soooo many Vital Regions. How do you like me now, Austria!?
So, as many of you know, today was world-wide Hetalia Day. And. It. Was. Awesome.
Seriously... awesome.
A lot of people showed up at the meet spot early, so we ended up wasting a looooot of time screwing around on the second floor of Borders (while getting weird stares from just about everyone there.) I felt a bit bad that I'd shown up late when I was the one who tried to organize everything, but no one really seemed to care. Which was good. Because I didn't feel guilty anymore~
So! The only other cosplayers there when Greece and I (Prussia) arrived were Canada and Brazil, but people started to show up fairly steadily after that.
Honestly, a lot happened in the time-frame of just barely an hour, so it's hard to summarize everything without going on a rant about one five minute moment, so let's do this the easy way~
SUMMARIZING!
~At Borders~
Event 1: Prussia and Greece arrive (IN STYLE!) waving the Prussian flag and waving a shovel. (That's right, Greece had a SHOVEL.)
Event 2: Prussia and Greece are greeted by non-cosplaying China #1
Event 3: Small group of three runs upstairs to greet other persons who have arrived. Prussia takes note that there is a Canada. No one else notices. Go figure. (I luff you Canada! ...And your pancakes.)
Event 4: Everyone is all smiles and much giggles are had. People are all very happy an accepting.
Event 5: Prussia and Canada seem to be getting along. Crazy people are crazy. Sleepy Greece sleeps... and Brazil runs around. A lot.
Event 6: Prussia is still the only person giving Canada love. Greece did manage to pay attention long enough to say hello to Canada... them proceeded to forget who she was talking to. (And fell asleep again.)
Event 7: Bizarre photoshoot starts. Prussia and Canada hug. Canada, Greece, Prussia, and Brazil sleep. Germany [no cosplay] chokes Brazil. Brazil flees. China's #2 and 3 are there now and also taking pictures. More fun is had, and Vital Regions are claimed (by the awesome Prussia, of course.)
Event 8: Ottoman Empire [Turkey] shows up in epic costume of epicness with Greece #2. Greece #1 is not pleased and finally stands up. Greece gathers shovel together and prepares to attack.
Event 8.5: Borders personal comes over and scolds us a bit. We shouldn't be taking photos in the store. Something about logos. No one really listens, but we try to be careful with the pictures to avoid the Borders logo. It ends up not working and no one cares... but we get a lot of cool photos anyway. Everyone fights over Prussia.
Event 9: ADORABLE little Hong Kong pops up out of nowhere and acts cute. All the other cosplayers/non-cosplayers are in awe of the cuteness. Little Hong Kong has lots of energy, and everyone suddenly has the urge to hug Hong Kong. More VItal Regions are claimed.
Event 10: Greece, Greece, and Hong Kong team up against Ottoman Empire. Epic battle is had in the manga section. More people stare. Mother pulls her small child away. Prussia is amused and makes Mortal Kombat jokes. China's rush out of the way and Canada watches from the sidelines, ignored.
Event 11: Despite being out-numbered, the Ottoman Empire wins the fight. Epically. Prussia makes more Mortal Kombat jokes, plush a Final Fantasy pun. People laugh. Greece is pwned. More laughs, and even more photos.
Event 12: Temporary truce is made. More pictures are taken. More Vital Regions are claimed, and Canada's are claimed for the fourth time by Prussia. More laughs. More photos.
Event 13: Spain texts China 3[?] and says she will meet us at the Union. Several people cheer. Much rejoicing. China 3 and another unknown person leave to deliver Spain's cosplay [as Spain was at the game] and Prussia [attempts] to gather people into a group.
Event 14: Persons are eventually gathered together. Group photo with various flags. Brazil attempts to claim Prussia's Vital Regions and fails. ( Ha ha ha.) More pictures, and people finally head downstairs.
Event 15: Large group of Hetalia cosplayers head down street toward the Union. Many game-goers are walking around downtown. They seem scared. Many strange looks are given, and several pictures are taken. Someone in the middle of the group starts up a round of "Marukaite Chikyuu" and almost everyone joins in. Prussia and Germany make beer jokes. More laughs.
Event 16: Group finally arrives at the Union. Prussia cosplayer is still blind due to glasses being in someone's pocket. More laughs. More jokes, and everyone heads inside.
~The Union~
Event 1: Another round of Marukaite is started. More stares from various college students and pedestrians. More laughs. More jokes. We finally make it down the stairs and look around. Holy shit it's crowded.
Event 2: Prussia leaves the group and goes on a hunt around the Union to look for Spain. Again, without glasses. Makes the search difficult. Prussia fails in finding Spain or the non-cosplaying China. Saddness. Prussia heads back to group.
Event 3: Group attempts to figure out where to eat. Several people suggest the floor. Prussia and Greece #1 team up and go on a table search. They find a row of doubled-seater tables and much rejoicing is had.
Event 4: Prussia guards the row of tables while Greece #1 goes to get the others. Student attempts to take one of the tables. Prussia glares. Student cowers and flees to a booth somewhere on the other end of the room. Prussia feels faint satisfaction and peers around corner to see if people are coming yet. Slow group is slow.
Event 5: Large group of teenagers and college students (all Hetalia fans) gather up at tables and make more jokes. Several pictures are taken, and Prussia leaves to look for Spain again with Canada and Greece.
Event 6: Spain is found! As are China and other non-cosplayer. Hugs are given. Smiles and more jokes are made. Epic Spain is epic. Prussia shows Spain the tables, then scurries off to the Subway line.
Event 6.5: Random person walks up to Prussia and asks what she is dressed as. Prussia answers, and girl lets out cry of delight. She knows Hetalia. Happy Prussia is happy. Girl compliments Spain on cosplay, and mistakes Greece for France. Prussia laughs and Greece pouts. Confusion is eventually cleared up and the Bad Touch Duo+France Greece continue to wait in line. Prussia's awesome wallet is awesome.
Event 6.8: Little Hong Kong sings Pub and Go. Prussia squeals in adorable delight. Reports adorableness to Spain, who also squeals. Long line is long.
Event 7: Somehow, everyone manages to get their dinners and we are all eating. Good sub is good. More jokes are made, several bizarre pictures are taken, including: Glaring China, Spain's invisible axe, random cosplayers eating, and Prussia's harem.
Event 8: Greece #1 stands up and walks to Ottoman Empire. Prussia prepares to jump in, but Greece proposes. Hetalia fans squeal and dive for cameras. Prussia is shocked, Canada is amused, everyone else is laughing/squeeing. Ottoman Empire seems confused, but accepts. Yatta. Prussia and Canada hug again.
Event 9: Prussia somehow manages to get another harem. Possessive Canada is possessive. Weird Brazil is weird. Greece latches onto Prussia's legs. America joins the harem and Prussia finally starts to panic. Shouts for Spain and attempts to escape the sudden rush of love. Escape fails, and Prussia claims their Vital Regions. Yay. Also; Spain eats a tomato.
Event 10: Bizarre college student shows up and starts talking to us. His name is Steve and he knows Hetalia. He is weird, but welcomed to the group. He is the only male. Prussia thinks he enjoyed that fact. Steve joins the party and everyone welcomes him. Yay. Also. Spain has soda.
Event 11: Brazil and little Hong Kong have to go home. Group is sad, and many hugs are given.
Event 12: Huge group photo is taken before Brazil leaves. Picture is taken MANY times, as it seems that people can't hold the cameras right. "PASTAAAAAAAAAA" is said far too many times to be healthy without an Italy there. More laughs, more hugs, and Brazil returns to Borders to be picked up by mother while the rest head to Bubble Island.
~Bubble Island~
Event 1: Group walks to Bubble Island and makes even more jokes. Several songs are sang, and many jokes are made. Prussia attempts to drag Germany to a pub, but fails. Saddness. Everyone seems to be getting along great. Happy group is happy.
Event 2: We finally make it to Bubble Island.
Event 3: Group moves to lobby area and then get their drinks. Group moves back to lobby area and Prussia leaves to buy pocky. Sadly, Prussia does not know the pocky dance properly and people are sad.
Event 4: Someone suggest "The Pocky Game" and Prussia ends up dragged into enough games to empty half a box of pocky. Prussia hopes her parents don't see those pictures. She really doesn't want to explain. Other people played too.
Event 5: Even more photos are taken. Fun photoshoots are fun, and many strange and bizarre pairings are created or made fun of. Prussia cannot fine Gilbird. China offers this.
Event 5.5: Pimp Turkey is pimpin'
Event 6: Prussia proposes to Candada with flower. Fangirl squees and more pictures.
Event 7: Fun Group is fun. Canada and America fight.
Event 8: America proposes to Spain. More pictures.
Event 9: Prussia does not approve and also proposes to Spain. Prussia wins because Prussia is awesome Spain has known Prussia longer. Sad America is sad.
Event: 9.5: Greece #1 proposes to Greece #2. Confused Group is confused. Flattered Greece is flattered.
Event 10: Even MORE ridiculous pictures are taken. Spain and Prussia pose for pole dance pictures. Group is amused.
Event 11: Greece #2 accepts Greece #1's proposal. Much rejoicing... or something.
Event 12: More pictures, more pictures, more pictures. And more jokes. Prussia dies happily in Spain's arms tonight.
Event 12.5: Prussia gets drunk and makes a toast with boot. Looks ridiculous in doing so. Spain and Canada join in.
Event 13: Now smaller group (as persons had left) sings/dances/listens to music on Prussia's phone/laptop.
Event 14: Group looks at Hetalia pictures on laptop. Many squees.
Event 15: Someone texts one of the members from a bizarre phone number. Prussia and Greece text the number back about Prussia claiming Vital Regions. Spain has an awesome axe.
Event 16: Group is told/realizes the mysterious number may belong to someone's mom using a phone in a nursing station? Prussia and Greece panic.
Event 17 : Eventually, things calm down and group sits together and just talks about things. Prussia and Greece eventually have to leave, and go to Greece's house for more fun and sleep.
Event 18: Prussia begins uploading photos and updates awesome blog of awesome.
XD Wow. I suck at summarizing, don't I? I guess it was really one of those, "You had to be there" sort of things. All in all, I'm so glad I decided to start the post about the Michigan meet. I met a LOT of awesome people, and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Soooo many photos were taken, and things were just... crazy in general. I think we ended up scaring a lot of people, but it was totally worth it.
