After class, Ellie stopped at JGOB to purchase a cupcake for herself. After all, today was her birthday. Why not indulge a little in baked goods? It wasn't just any birthday. Ariel was heading back to her room, sending a "Hi, Ellie!" through the open door in passing, but then she bounced back and popped her head in a little.

"You have a cupcake," she observed. "Is that a celebratory cupcake, or just a I got a cupcake because they're delicious cupcake?"

"Hey Ariel," Ellie said with a wave. "I guess both. Cupcakes should be bought every now and then just because they are delicious. But this one is a little celebratory, too. It's my birthday."

"It is?" asked Ariel, instantly gaining a grin. "Well, happy birthday, then! That's a great reason for cupcakes."

Although she couldn't help wondering what it was with the Bartowski family and having birthday cake by themselves.

"Oh, no," Ariel laughed, waving a hand, "that's okay, I'm good. It's your cake, you should enjoy it! You and Chuck've got birthdays fairly close, it feels like we just celebrated his!"

"Oh, it's a holiday when everyone gets together for a big feast to celebrate all we're thankful for. American Thanksgiving is in November," Ellie explained. "Pretty sure Canadian Thanksgiving is this Monday."

"Why do they celebrate it on different days?" Ariel asked, head tilting. "Although, I suppose that means you get two chances to celebrate, and that's not too bad."
