"I got back Sunday," Jennifer said. "My visit home got cut a little short." Her tone and expression gave away she wasn't sharing the whole story.

"If you're sure..." Ellie wasn't going to push her to talk about anything she didn't want to. "My trip was mostly uneventful. Though I talked my brother into going to school here."
