This was so hard. Like, beyond the telling of it hard. This question is less a "who would I take..." and more a "who wouldn't I take..." one. But I managed to come up with one I didn't think anyone else would, and it's even a different genre entirely. Or medium, anyway. =D
When I was small, I stole my brother's X-Men comicbooks and devoured them. I fell in love with the geeky, teenage hacker who could walk through walls, and wanted to be just like her. Then my brother stopped buying comics and I drifted to other things. Eventually, I came back and discovered that Kitty had been allowed to turn into an adult, while still retaining her idealism and sense of humor.
I was going to do small images from various bits and pieces, but ended up choosing some violence and hilarity instead. The following are seven slightly shrunken pages illustrating how Kitty hates guns and having her post-breakfast conversation interrupted. And also that anti-mutant hysteria is the backbone of the Marvel universe. =D
And just as a warning, re-reading this has made me gleeful like you wouldn't believe. (also, please ignore the extraneous male companion, even if all he does is mostly stand back and watch--er, and the art, which is a bit iffy at times, though it has and would be worse)
Note: technically, I prefer Kitty Pryde when she's with Excalibur and written by Warren Ellis, which is when these pages are from.
