[Scott's arrived in Cherrygrove, and has just finished getting some food... and, it seems his face is bruised a bit. Owie?]

I've stocked up on items and food for the road. I wish I could bring meat with me, but they said it would rot.

[Pout, and pause. He rubs his face a bit, before looking back down at the camera.]

A breeder? Are you trying to get a certain type of Pokemon by breeding, sir? I didn't think it was possible to buy Pokemon that way.

[video] also you should read scott pilgrim just saying awesome_scott October 9 2010, 00:42:12 UTC
Obviously! It's better than trying to trade for the live ones.

[video] I just read the first volume actually! \o/!! profpuzzle October 9 2010, 02:16:48 UTC
Well, if you put it that way, perhaps. Though if you breed these creatures, wouldn't it still be "live"?

[He doesn't understand all this breeding business, seriously. What are these eggs you speak of?]

[video] Awesome! did you like it :o awesome_scott October 9 2010, 02:18:52 UTC
...I'm not sure. I've never seen a Pokémon breed before. And I don't want to.

[Don't worry, you are not alone in that.]

[video] The art is neat and the story is wacky...I LIKE IT <3 profpuzzle October 9 2010, 02:24:33 UTC
Yes...I would rather not as well. It is good to give them some privacy...

[Let's just leave it at that, shall we? He doesn't want to go speaking about creatures mating and stuff, okay? SUBJECT CHANGE!]

Well, anyhow. What kind of Pokemon is this "Dratini"? Something strong, I assume?

It's a dragon which becomes a bigger dragon. One of the Elite Four uses heaps of their evolved form, Dragonite!
They beat me all the time, because I didn't have an ice-type, which was one of their two weaknesses.
And Ice-Types are rare at the beginning!

[video] Oh my God that icon, pffffffft "NOD NOD" profpuzzle October 9 2010, 02:36:55 UTC
"Elite Four"? Is that some kind of group around here?

[Video games? What are those? The Professor never seen one before! And he's from one, even if he doesn't know about it...Scott could know him or not...who knows?]

Is that so? Hm...Well, I will keep that in mind if I ever come across a dragon here, though I don't believe I have any ice-types with me.

[video] that reminds me i need to make more icons awesome_scott October 9 2010, 02:45:07 UTC
After you beat the gym leaders, you can go to the Elite Four and the Champion, and then you become the best trainer ever! But you don't get any discounts on items, or anything like that. And then your rival is still the champion when you return!

[Nah, Scott doesn't know Layton.]

In the wild, Dratini come from the Safari Zone. But you need a Super Rod... and then they run away from you... but they're not as bad as Chansey.

[video] haha, I would love to see them <3 profpuzzle October 9 2010, 03:02:48 UTC
[The Professor nods and just...kinda takes it all in. He's kinda gets it, but he kinda doesn't.]

Hm...I assume that you have played this as a "video game" back in your home? I had nothing of the such back in my time, but is this what a "video game" is like?

"Chansey"? You mean such as those pink creatures in the Pokemon Centers?

[God, he is so lost here. You kids and yer vidya games! Just look how confused this man is.]

[video] Yeah, after my Minecraft time. awesome_scott October 9 2010, 03:12:01 UTC
Kind of. Except you're a lot less physical. You'd sit down with a gameboy, maybe a soda, and play.
[Pause.]
You don't have videogames?
[So many cultures lack them. :c]
Yeah, them! They're really good to defend with, but they're really rare.

No, we don't have video games back home in London. To be more precise, we don't have video games back in our time period. I believe I am from a time much further back than you, sir.

[Though he'll love to try one, one day! Everyone seems to be going heed over heels for them or something. He's missing out on the fun!]

Is that so? Hm, well, they didn't seem like ones you would send out to battle, but I will take your word for it. You are probably more knowledgeable about this than I am.

Yes, I believe I am.

What year are you from, sir? It is only the 1920s in my time.

I'm from 2005.

...!! Did I break time to bring news of videogames? Wouldn't that be a bad thing?

No, I don't believe so. I have received news about video games long ago and knowledge that we are in one.

It doesn't seem like anything would happen if I have knowledge on them. As long as I do not attempt to create one back in my time, then I believe it will be fine.

But creating one would make you famous. You could become the inventor of Tetris!
