It takes Lilly a long time, or what feels like a long time, to find a trace of Blodwen's dreams. Merriman had shared all he could, but it isn't easy for her to find someone she's never met.
The glint of light off green glass is what catches her eye.
Someone's dreaming of Oz, she thinks, moving closer. And then No. It's too cold for Oz. Too cold, too sharp-edged, too stark.
Lilly moves cautiously towards the palace, her figure unreflected in the mirrorglass ground. The dreamer doesn't know she's here. Good. She passes through an emerald wall, emerges in the palace's towering central chamber, and freezes, pressing back into the shadow of a pillar.
So. That's what Blodwen looks like. You're too old for spring green, Lilly thinks mutinously before slipping through the shadows to get a little closer.
