Bujold, Lois McMaster. Miles, Mystery and Mayhem. Interesting. Good. Lots of good characterization. All terrific and good.

Gaiman, Neil. Sandman Overture. Loving the Dream of Cats.

Gaiman, Neil. The Ocean at the End of the Lane. This couldn't be more Gaimany. I am also amazed how thin this is. They hang on his every word, so he can write tiny novels. I'm not saying it's bad. I'm saying it never changes.

Gaiman, Neil and P. Craig Russell. Murder Mysteries. Impactual and creepy.

Point One. Meh.

Pratchett, Terry. Raising Steam. Disc World number 40, and another Moist Von Lipwig. The bouncing around initially is bothersome.

Velvet. I really, really like Brubaker's work here.

Ward, Tim. Order of Something. This is dreadful. Really dreadful.

Warren, Kaaren. Through Splintered Walls. Scary and satisfying stories.

Weber, David. Off Armageddon Reef. The prose is truly bad in this. I've been taught not to write like this in workshops. So, why is this guy published?

Weber, David. On Basilisk Station. I don't expect to like this. It turned out to be okay, but has the same problem as the Hornblower novels, upon which it is patterned. It's about the navy, and I'm not too excited to read that.

Watching: 123

Agents of SHIELD. I'm still lukewarm, but it rises on occasion.

Agents of SHIELD Season 2. Better than it was last season.

Alexander and the Horrible, Terrible No Good Very Bad Day. How could I say no to this? It was actually quite good. Steve Farrell is notable in it.

The Daily Show. Back for another year.

Dante's Inferno. A rewatch.

Dark Shadows. Cheesy goodness from 1991.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. This movie is not going to get the attention it deserves. It is dark, but as important to the genre in terms of special effects as Star Wars was. Stop motion has come a long way.

Dead Poet's Society. I had to rewatch it. Some parts are now very hard to watch after Williams' suicide. "We are food for worms." :/

Dear Frankie. A sad but hopeful movie about a deaf boy and his parents.

Ghost Busters. Oh, how 80s! But fun to see it again.

The Girl from Paris. It was okay.

Godzilla. It was okay.

Gokusen. A rewatch.

Gotham. Gritty and unlikely. But interesting.

The Grand Budapest Hotel. One of my favorites for this year. Absurd, quirky, and very clever.

The Grand Budapest Hotel Short Features. They teach you to make Mendel's pastries. How cool is that?

Greyfriars Bobby. From my childhood, and unlike Xanadu, holds up just as well. That said, there are some wonderful adult themes I missed as a kid. Overall, great.

Guardians of the Galaxy (X3). It was okay, but not life changing. Upon second viewing a much better story than I initially thought.

Her. A little slow, but a meaty movie with lots to think about regarding artificial intelligence.

Hercules. Way to go, Dwayne Johnson. Nicely done.

Hero. A rewatch.

The History Boys. Plays like a play, and is terribly undisturbed about sexual abuse.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Your holiday rewatch.

Love, Actually. The holiday rewatch.

Madagascar 3. A rewatch during a rough weekend.

Made in Dagenham. A strike movie set in Britain in the 1960s.

Malificent. It was okay.

Marvel Agents of SHIELD. This show has really picked up.

The Mayor of Casterbridge. With a great many of the Rome crew, this is a very interesting and faithful rendition of the Hardy novel. Overall, I was very happy with this. RECOMMENDED.

Merry Madagascar. A holiday rewatch.

Millenium Actress. A rewatch.

Mission Impossible: Season 2. Well, you know, this can only get so good, but if it's what you're looking for, it's okay.

Mission Impossible: Season 3. Thanks, Steve.

Mission Impossible: Season 4. Swapping out Martin Landau with Leonard Nimoy, and no replacement for Cinnamon at all.

Mission Impossible: Season 5. Things get groovy, man.

Mockingjay Part 1. Really depressing. Bad decision to divide this book.

Monster High Hauntleywood Special. Just okay, but the poorest writing of any of them.

Monster High Freaky Fusion. So. Pretty good overall, although there was one big sappy climax.

Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Darkly comedic but okay.

The Musketeers. In spite of the reviews, this is craptastic. I will abandon it as soon as Alexander Siddig is not in the next episode.

Nadesico. A rewatch. Abandoned and donated to half price books. Man, this is bad.

Oblomov. Mosfilm's suprisingly good story of an awakened man.

Only Lovers Left Alive. A slow and meditative look at vampires. Excellent acting by Swinton and Hiddleston. VERY slow.

The Penguins of Madagascar Movie. The movie for people who say Yay! to the TV show. Me, in other words.

Rome Season One. A rewatch while exercising.

Rome Season Two. A rewatch while exercising.

Saltimbanco. A rewatch while exercising.

Shamanic Princess. A rewatch.

The Sorcerer and the White Snake. A beautiful rewatch.

Sherlock. Season 4. Finally. The wedding episode, wherein I actually like Sherlock as a character, because he's been a huge dick and I didn't like it.

Spider-Man 2. What a dud. Don't even think about it.

The Story of Qui Ju. An interesting power struggle set in modern China. Somewhat farcical and tragic at the same time.

Toy Story that Time Forgot. Fun.

Triangle Waist Fire from HBO Video. Cheery way to spend the afternoon catching up on fire assignments.

Thor: The Dark World. Repeating while exercising.

Thor: The Dark World Extras. Really liked the two brothers segment.

Twelve Years a Slave. History is hard to watch, sometimes. Great performances.

The Wizard of Oz. A rewatch.

Xanadu. I loved this as a 13 year old girl, but it is just so very bad. :)

X-Men Days of Future Past (X2). Just okay.
